Yellow Fun Fact: Yellow is the most highly visible of all colors, which is why yellow is used for pedestrian crossings, firetrucks, road maintenance equipment, school buses and taxicabs. Yellow is often used for safety and accident prevention information, and for warning signs, since the color yellow is traditionally used to signal caution, rather than danger (Slow down as opposed to Stop)! Take note of crossings which are marked in white – they are less easy to see than those marked in yellow, particularly on wet and cloudy days.

In the world of colors, yellow holds a place of its own. The color yellow puts a smile on your face…turns a frown upside down. Yellow represents sunshine, cheerfulness, friendship, hope and happiness, to name a few. Yellow, in the realm of fashion, is always a winner.
Yellow is the color between green and orange in the spectrum of visible light. Yellow is the color of ripe lemons and delicious bananas. Yellow is considered a primary color in subtractive color, used in color printing.
Yellow is bright yet soothing. There’s a reason yellow is often referred to as “mellow yellow.”

Yellow Fun Fact: According to surveys in Europe, Canada and the United States, yellow is the color people most often associate with amusement, gentleness and spontaneity. Yellow plays an important role in Asian culture, particularly in China, where it is seen as the color of happiness, glory, wisdom, harmony and culture.

The word yellow comes from the Old English geolu, geolwe, meaning “yellow, yellowish”, derived from the Proto-Germanic word gelwax “yellow.” Yellow has the same Indo-European base, gel, as the words gold and yell. Gel means both bright and gleaming, to cry out. Thus, yellow is a color that cries out for attention.
If you doubt the attention-grabbing power of yellow, just watch a yellow firetruck or a yellow sports car whiz on by. The fast paced vehicle will truly catch your eye!
Yellow Fun Fact: Yellow, in the form of yellow ochre pigment made from clay, was one of the first colors used in prehistoric cave art. The cave of Lascaux has an image of a horse colored with yellow and is estimated to be approximately 17,300 years old.

As I’ve stated many times, perhaps you adore the color yellow, but feel that wearing too much yellow is overpowering, even blinding. A great way to combat that is to only wear one item of yellow (i.e., pants, skirt, etc.) or doll yourself up in yellow accessories. As a true fashion lover knows, it only takes a small amount of a good thing and you’re always good to go.
So, by adding yellow to your outfit with your purse, jewelry or shoes, you’re certain to fit the bill of all fashion and style rules!

Merely by running your eyes over the yellow fashion photographs, it is evident that yellow screams to be seen and always gets an A+, every day (even rainy days)!

There is no denying that colors are vibrant and beautiful to look at. Colors both affect and display our moods. Feeling down? Dress in yellow and turn your frown upside down!

The ancient Romans used yellow in their paintings to represent gold and also in skin tones. The color yellow is found frequently in the murals of Pompeii.
