I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. In my fashion and beauty opinion, the two cosmetic items that are most important to add glamour, allure and magic to the face are mascara and lipstick! If you can only choose two makeup items to put in your cosmetic bag, choose those two and your fabulous face will thank you.

Long, thick, luscious eyelashes area a sign of health and beauty. Long, thick eyelashes not only look beautiful, but they draw out the appeal and allure of your eyes. Your eyelashes are to your eyes what a fabulous frame is to a picture; they highlight the overall look.

An eyelash is one of the hairs that grows at the edge of the eyelid. Eyelashes protect the eye from debris and perform some of the same functions as whiskers do on a cat or mouse, in the sense that they are sensitive to being touched, thus providing a warning that an object (dust, hair, etc.) is near the eye, which then closes reflexively.

Items needed to capture the essence and glamour of long, heathy eyelashes are mascara, an eyelash brush and if preferred, an eyelash curler. If you do use an eyelash curler, don’t press and close the grips too hard, as this can cause eyelashes to pull out.

Mascara Fun Fact: Mascara is a cosmetic commonly used to enhance the eyelashes. Mascara darkens, thickens, lengthens and helps to define the eyelashes. Mascara is available in three forms (liquid, cake, cream), and most contain the basic ingredients of oils, waxes and preservatives.  The thicker the coats of mascara applied, the thicker and more full your eyelashes will look.

For the most dramatic eyelash look of all, jet black mascara outdoes them all. However, colored mascara can be fun to experiment with and wear when you’re feeling unique, magical and whimsical!

Tips for Growing Long, Lush, Healthy Eyelashes:

  1. Vitamin E, Iron, Vitamin B12 – Just like your body, hair needs protein, iron and Vitamin B12 to stay strong and healthy. Vitamin E acts as an antioxidant that adds to healthy hair growth. Eyelashes are hair, so they need to be fed nutrients just like the hair on your head.
  2. Biotin (Vitamin H) – Promotes hair growth, texture and thickness.
  3. Petroleum Jelly – If you remove your mascara before you go to sleep, then apply petroleum jelly to your bare eyelashes and leave on overnight while you sleep, this will help your eyelashes to grow faster, thicker and stronger.
  4. Castor Oil/Olive Oil – These oils help to promote hair growth.
  5. Enriched Mascara – Many mascaras that are available for purchase today include lash boosting serums, botanicals and pro-vitamin enriched formulas.

Bat your eyes in lovely, long eyelashes!

Long eyelashes are considered a sign of beauty in many cultures. Did you know that you can enhance your eyelashes artificially, either by applying false eyelashes or using eyelash extensions? Permanent eyelash tints have also become a popular procedure provided in many salons. It is also possible to get eyelash transplants, which are similar in nature to hair transplantation done on the head. Since the eyelash hair is transported from the head, the new eyelashes will continue to grow.

Eyelash Fun Fact: The invention of the photograph and motion picture launched mascara’s popularity and usage in the United States. Motion pictures advertised a new standard of beauty and sex appeal. Famous actresses of the classic cinema era, such as Theda Bara, Pola Negri, Clara Bow, Greta Garbo, Marlene Dietrich, Bette Davis and Jean Harlow depended heavily on dramatic mascara applications for their glamorized appearances, which the mainstream public began to mimic.

Today, mascara is often used on a daily basis around the world. In 2016 alone, U.S. consumers spent 335.6 million dollars on the top ten leading mascara brands.

Yes, beauty is a billion dollar business!

For the animal lovers out there, eyelashes, being hair, are found on mammals. Camels have eyelashes that are remarkably long and thick. Horses and cows have long eyelashes also. Inherited eyelash problems are common in some breeds of dogs and horses. Not much different than people!

Eyelash Fun Fact: The average eyelash takes about seven to eight weeks to grow back if pulled out, and constant pulling may lead to permanent damage, stunting hair growth.

Eyelashes bedazzling and beguiling being lush, lovely, luxurious and long are truly a fashion and beauty bomb!

“Baby, baby, baby, bat your lovely, lush, long eyelashes at me.”

“I’m flattered you’re admiring my luxurious eyelashes, you see.”

“Are your eyelashes naturally that long, or could your lashes be fake?”

“These are my own lashes coated with mascara. Black mascara takes the cake.”

“Your extra long lashes add to the allure, appeal and attractiveness of your eyes.”

“Yes. The longer the lashes, the larger your eyes appear in size.”

Long Eyelashes: A true beauty masterpiece!

Hairstyles can make or break a look, and a popular hair do that never goes out of style is the braid. A braid is a complex structure or pattern formed by interlacing three or more strands of flexible material such as textile yarns, wire and of course, hair! Compared with the process of weaving, which usually involves two separate, perpendicular groups of strands (warp and weft), a braid is usually long and narrow, with each component strand functionally equivalent in zigzagging forward through the overlapping mass of the others.

In other words, completed braids resemble a criss-cross hair pattern!

Popular Types of Braids:

  1. Box Braids: Hair braids which are characterized by boxy or square shaped hair divisions. They are typically created by adding synthetic braiding hair. This hairstyle is a means of protective styling.
  2. Cornrows: An ancient traditional African style of hair grooming, in which the hair is braided very close to the scalp, using an underhand, upward motion to produce a continuous, raised row. Cornrows are often formed in simple, straight lines.
  3. Crochet Braids: Also known as latch hook braids, this braiding hair type involves crocheting synthetic hair extensions to a person’s natural hair with a latch hook or crochet hook.
  4. Fishtail Braids: Also known as the Herringbone, this braid includes a weaving of separate strands where the finished braid resembles the tail/bones look of a fish.
  5. French Braids: This braid includes three sections of hair that are braided together from the crown of the head to the nape of the neck.
  6. Standard Braids: Two or three sections of hair are overlapped, creating the standard, twisted braid.

Happening types of hair braids that are easy to be made!

Braid Fun Fact: The oldest known reproduction of hair braiding may go back about 30,000 years; the Venus of Willendorf, now known in academia as the Woman of Willendorf, is a female figurine estimated to have been made between about 28,000 and 25,000 BC. It has been disputed whether or not she wears braided hair or some sort of woven basket on her head. The Venus of Brassempouy is estimated to be about 25,000 years old and shows a braided hairstyle.

The braided hairstyle began growing in popularity around the world. During the Bronze Age and Iron Age many peoples in the Near East, Asia Minor, Caucasus, East Mediterranean, North Africa, Ancient Egyptians, Ancient Greeks, Babylonians, Amorites, Hittites, Mitanni, Israelites, Persians, Medes, Chaldeans, Armenians, and more are depicted in art with braided hair.

Long or short, here to there, look spectacular and splendid with braided hair!

Braiding is traditionally a social art. Because of the time it takes to braid hair, people have often taken time to socialize while braiding and having their hair braided. It began with elders making simple knots and braids for younger children. Older children watched and learned from them, started practicing on younger children, and eventually learned the traditional braid designs. This carried on a tradition of bonding between elders and the new generation.

Cornrow Braids Fun Fact: Depending on the region of the world, cornrows are often worn by men and women and are often adorned with beads or cowry shells. Cornrows are easy maintenance, as rows can be left in for weeks at a time if maintained through careful washing of hair and regular oiling of the scalp.

Braid Not So Fun Fact: Braids pulled too tight or worn for considerable lengths of time can cause a type of hair loss known as traction alopecia.

Crochet Braids Fun Fact: While crochet braids are a hybrid of traditional braids, they’re considered to be more similar to weaves. The natural hair can be twisted or braided, but is most commonly styled into cornrows before affixing the synthetic hair. Using a latch hook or crochet hook, the synthetic hair (in the form of loose bulk) is then attached. Parts of the hair extensions are grabbed by the hook and pulled through the underside of each cornrow, working from the front of the hair to the back at a 90 degree angle.

Whether your braid preference is box, crochet, cornrow, fishtail, standard or French, no matter which braid you step out in, be assured you and your hair will look and feel your best!

Braid Fun Fact: The Dutch braid and the Fishtail braid are both variations of the gorgeous French braid!

“The length of your hair is spectacular, it goes almost to the floor.”

“Shorter haircuts are beautiful also, sometimes less is more.”

“I see you braided your hair; it must have taken hours to do.”

“A professional hair stylist made my braid; I sat in a chair, she made the do.”

“The type of braid is exquisite with a different braided look than I know.”

“This here is the fishtail braid. When I walk it swings too and fro.”

Braids: A trendy, well known hairstyle that works every time…mile to mile!

Even if you don’t follow celebrities or Hollywood, most everyone around the world has heard of and is aware of the Academy Awards, also known as the Oscars. Since the 90th Academy Awards is coming up, to be televised worldwide on March 4, 2018, I thought I’d give you some interesting trivia of how the fashionable, star studded red carpet event came to be the biggest awards annual show in the motion picture industry.

The Academy Awards are a set of awards for artistic and technical merit in the American film industry, given annually by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), to recognize excellence in cinematic achievements as assessed by the Academy’s voting membership. The various category winners are awarded a copy of a golden statuette, officially called the “Academy Award of Merit”, which has become known by its nickname “Oscar”.  The sculpture was created by George Stanley.

Academy Awards Fun Fact: The awards ceremony was first broadcast on radio in 1930 and televised for the first time in 1953, and is now seen live in more than 200 countries and can be streamed live online. The Academy Awards ceremony is the oldest worldwide entertainment awards event. Its equivalents – the Emmy Awards for television, the Tony Awards for theater and the Grammy Awards for music – are modeled after the Academy Awards.

Academy Awards Trivia:

  1. The awards, first presented on May 16, 1929 at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, are overseen by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS). The first presentation had an audience of approximately 270 people and the ticket cost was $5.
  2. Since 1941, the Academy uses sealed envelopes to announce the name of the winner in each category.
  3. The first Best Actor awarded went to Emil Jannings for his performances in The Last Command and The Way of All Flesh.
  4. At the 29th ceremony, held on March 27, 1957, the Best Foreign Language Film        category was introduced.
  5. The 74th Academy Awards, held in 2002, presented the first Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.
  6. Since 1973, all Academy Awards ceremonies have ended with the Academy Award for Best Picture.
  7. Traditionally, the actors present the awards for actresses, and the actresses present the awards for actors.
  8. Since 2004, Academy Award nomination results have been announced to the public in January.
  9. The major awards are presented at a Hollywood venue during a live televised ceremony, commonly in late February or early March, and six weeks after the announcement of the nominees.
  10. While the Academy Award is owned by the recipient, the statuette is not on the open market. Although some Oscar sale transactions have been successful, some buyers have returned the statuettes to the Academy, which keeps them in its treasury.
  11. The red carpet event allows viewers an opportunity to see the designer clothing, jewelry and shoes worn by the nominees.

Academy Awards trivia for the movie buff in all of us!

Academy Awards/Oscar Fun Fact: The origin of the name Oscar is disputed. One biography of Bette Davis, who was president of the Academy, claims she named the Oscar after her first husband, band leader Oscar Nelson. Another claimed origin is the Academy’s executive secretary, Margaret Herrick, first saw the award in 1931 and made reference to the statuette’s reminding her of her “Uncle Oscar” (a nickname for her cousin Oscar Pierce). One of the earliest mentions of the term Oscar dates to a Time magazine article about the 1934 64th Academy Awards. Walt Disney also thanked the Academy for his “Oscar” as early as 1932. The trophy officially received the name “Oscar” in 1939 by the AMPAS.

The Academy Awards is the only awards show televised live in all United States time zones, Canada and the United Kingdom. The broadcast gathers millions of viewers elsewhere throughout the world.

There is no doubt that people tune in to see the outcomes of their favorite movies, and also to take in the glitz and glamour and all of the pamper!

The Academy Awards: A ceremony to honor and celebrate the motion pictures of the year…allowing the world to participate in the fashion, opulence and aura, and be the star that you are!

Whether you refer to the black tie event as the Oscars or the Academy Awards, there is no denying that for a movie and fashion buff, the evening gowns and tuxes are always stylish and fashion forward!

It makes no difference if your hair length preference is long or short, there is no denying that sleek, silky, straight hair looks fabulous! Lustrous, smooth, straight hair frames all face shapes and wears well with all types of clothing and garments. Even hats!

What exactly is this “hair” that we all love and crave and spend so much time washing, drying, styling and cutting? Hair is a protein filament that grows from follicles found in the dermis. Hair is one of the defining characteristics of mammals. The human body, apart from areas of glabrous skin, is covered in follicles which produce thick terminal and fine vellus  hair. Most common interests in hair is focused on hair growth, hair types and hair care, but hair is also an important biomaterial primarily composed of protein, notably alpha-keratin.

Curls are glorious and represent a girl with her sugar and spice, but straight, sensuous, sexy hair always looks nice!

For a knock-out look that will bang one out of the park, wispy or blunt bangs worn with straight hair look youthful, playful and fabulous!

Hair Fun Fact: The word “hair” usually refers to two distinct structures: the hair follicle (the part beneath the skin), and the hair shaft, which is the hard filamentous part that extends above the skin surface. Hair fibers have a structure consisting of several layers, starting from the outside: the cuticle, the cortex and the medulla.

Each and every strand of hair is made up of the cuticle, cortex and medulla.

Silky straight hair, when flowing down the back, can cause an eye popping, alluring heart attack! Sheer straight beauty.

How do you obtain straight hair, especially if your hair tends to be naturally wavy or curly?

Three Ways to Straighten Your Hair:

  1. Using a hot iron or flat iron
  2. Using a blow dryer or hair dryer
  3. Using natural ways

Hot irons work well because they provide heat, and heat acts as a hair straightener. If you take small sections of your hair, and run the hot/flat iron down each section from the scalp to the ends, your hair will obtain the silky straight texture that you are trying to create.

Hair dryers and blow dryers work much the same way. If you take a sturdy, good styling brush and place the blow dryer on your roots, then take the brush the entire way down to your ends, keeping the blow dryer moving along with the brush, your hair will automatically straighten. This is why if your hair is damp and wavy, applying heat from the blow dryer and continually brushing the hair, the waves will be removed.

For cost effective flat irons and blow dryers that work magical hair wonders, why not try one of these items?

KIPOZI Professional Titanium Flat Iron Hair Straightener with Digital LCD Display ,Dual Voltage,Instant Heat Up(1.75 inch wide, black)

Magnifeko 1875W Professional Hair Dryer with Ionic Conditioning – Powerful, Fast Hairdryer Blow Dryer – 2 Speeds, 3 Heat Settings

For hair that is sure to mesmerize and illuminate, go straight!

Straight Hair Fashion Tip: For those of you with brittle or damaged hair, you can still obtain glamorous, silky, straight tresses naturally! Good news!

WAYS TO STRAIGHTEN YOUR HAIR NATURALLY:

  1. Brush wet hair until it dries.
  2. Wrap wet hair tightly. You can wrap your wet hair in a silk scarf and sleep on it to reduce frizz.
  3. Roll your hair. This works with large rollers. Let your hair dry completely before you remove the rollers, then brush.
  4. Ponytails. Divide damp hair into two low ponytails, then add additional elastics every inch or so down the ponytail to hold the hair together. When the hair is dry, remove the ponytails and elastic. Brush to straighten.
  5. Twist hair into a bun. Wrap damp hair into a bun and don’t cover…let your hair air dry, the brush out.

To all of these methods, add a few drops of sweet almond or coconut oil to tame frizz and smooth out the look. For selfie or magazine ready hair, spray hair gloss over the hair. Beautiful, alluring and easy hair care!

Straight hair is chic, stylish, trendy and classy, for a head of hair that mixes sweet school girl with savvy and sassy!

Four Types of Hair Classifications:

  1. Straight Hair
  2. Wavy Hair
  3. Curly Hair
  4. Kinky Hair

Whatever your natural hair type, yes, attractive all, even kinky, wavy and curly hair can be styled for a straight fall.

Sleek, straight hair for the long and short of it!

“Your hair is so straight and soft. May I run my fingers through your tresses?”

“You can look but don’t touch. Would you want me pawing all your dresses?”

“I would think hair that straight would look thin, but your hair is thick and full.”

“My hair is also chic, shiny and glimmering….never breaking, dry or dull.”

“Is your hair naturally straight or do you style it to fall luxuriously straight down?”

“I use a flat iron strand by strand for a hairstyle that works in business and around town.”

Straight Hair: A classic hairstyle that needs no explanation…either for the long or short of it!

Most people think of sweaters as  knitted garments intended to cover the torso and arms to keep warm. Sweaters can also be worn as dresses for the comfort, appeal and sheer aesthetic pleasure of being wrapped in visual and chic pleasure.

Sweater dresses are perfect clothing items to be worn in cool weather, allowing the wearer to pass on a blazer or jacket, yet still maintain a comfortable body temperature. Not only are sweater dresses stylish and trendy, but they are cozy, fashionable and easy to move in.

Dress Fun Fact: A dress (also known as a frock or gown) is a garment consisting of a skirt with an attached bodice (or a matching bodice giving the effect of a one piece garment). A dress can be any one piece garment containing a skirt of any length. Dresses can be both formal or informal.

Sweater Fun Fact: The term ‘sweater’ is a catch-all for a variety of knit garments. Although the term often refers to a pullover, a sweater can also refer to a cardigan, a garment that opens and fastens down the front. Various necklines are found, although the V-neck, turtleneck and the crew neck are the most popular.

Sweater dresses mix the eye candy appeal of the garment along with the practicality of maintaining easy body movement and warmth.

Wear your comfort everyday…the splendid sweater dress way!

For eye catching, gorgeous sweater dresses, every closet should hold this practical yet body hugging turtleneck:

V28 Women Vintage Cowl Neck Stripe Kint Stretchable Elasticity Long Sleeve Slim Fit Sweater Dress XS/S US 2-8 Black

The sweater dress: a fashion must that’s never a miss!

Sweater Dress Fun Fact: Knitted fabrics are generally somewhat elastic and have a softer hand (feel or drape) than woven fabrics. Sweaters that are more tightly fitted, or have soft drape, may conform well to the body without requiring the tailoring often necessary in a woven garment such as darts, flares and gores. Even when such shaping is used, it can be knit into the fabric itself, without requiring seams.

Nancy Mangano’s Sweater Dress Fashion Tip: Of all the dresses on the fashion market, I find sweater dresses wear the best when worn with a great pair of high heeled boots. Be it ankle boots, knee high boots or thigh high boots, a wonderful pair of boots mixed with a darling, sensual sweater dress brings out your best boot scoot boogie!

My oh my…your elegant sweater dress is pretty, provocative and pleasing to the eye!

Dress Fun Fact: Before the Victorian period, the word ‘dress’ usually referred to a general overall mode of attire for either men or women, as reflected in such phrases as “evening dress”, “morning dress”, “travelling dress”, and so on, rather than to a specific garment. By the early 20th century, both ‘gown’ and ‘frock’ were essentially synonymous with ‘dress’, although gown was more often used for a formal, heavy or full length garment, and frock or dress for a lightweight, shorter, or informal dress. Only in the last few decades has gown lost its general meaning of a woman’s garment in the United States in favor of ‘dress.’

Popular Types of Sweaters:

  1. Hoodie
  2. Jacket
  3. Sweater Curse
  4. Sweater Design
  5. Twinset
  6. Cardigan
  7. Jersey
  8. Sweater Vest

Beginning around 1915, hemlines for daytime dresses left the floor. For the next fifty years fashionable dresses became short (1920s), then long (1930s), then shorter (the War Years with their restrictions on fabric), then long (the “New Look”). Today? Any preferred dress length goes…as all true fashion divas know!

Sweater Fun Fact: The uniforms that present day ice hockey players wear are sometimes referred to as ‘sweaters’, although they usually more closely resemble the jerseys worn in other sports like soccer. This is because original uniforms were simply sweaters with the team’s logo stitched on the front. As technology changed, so did the uniforms, as actual sweaters absorbed too much moisture and became weighed down and bulky throughout the course of the game.

However, with all the excitement of watching an ice hockey game, wearing a sweater to the game as a spectator is a grand idea, as ice rinks can get freezing! A whole lot of freezing, fashion fun for everyone!

Who said sweaters were simply to keep warm? Step out in a lovely, versatile sweater dress for a fashion adrenalin shot in the arm!

Nancy Mangano’s Sweater Dress Fashion Tip: For a perfect hour glass figure look, wear a loose fitting sweater dress with a belt around the waist! This will accentuate the waistline while making the bust and hips look smaller.

“Excuse me, but I didn’t anticipate the cold. May I borrow the sweater you’re in?”

“If you look harder you’ll see my sweater is my actual dress. Take it off, I show skin!”

“That would probably be uncomfortable for you. Embarrassed am I.”

“That is fine. I suggest a sweater dress for you…they are comfortable and simply divine.”

“The sweater does hug your body in all the right places and looks cozy at the same time.”

“Yes. You’ll need to get your own sweater dress for the experience. I’ll be keeping mine!”

The Sweater Dress: A gorgeous garment and conversation piece for the fashion gal who’s ahead of her time!

The term ‘fashion’ is a universal word, known and admired around the world. But what exactly constitutes fashion? Fashion is a popular style or practice, especially in clothing, footwear, accessories, makeup, hairstyle and body. Fashion is a distinctive and often constant trend in the style in which a person dresses. Because the more technical term ‘costume’ is regularly linked to ‘fashion’, the use of the term costume has been relegated to special senses like fancy dress or masquerade wear, while fashion generally means clothing.
Although aspects of fashion can be masculine or feminine, some fashion trends are androgynous (worn by both males and females).  Be it haute couture (high fashion) or casual attire, fashion is a word that excites and inspires!

Fashion: A passion for fashion means you have an innate, hungry, yearning eye and desire for fabulous clothing garments.
Style: The signature way that you mix and match the fashion pieces together.
Fashion Fun Fact: The notion of a global fashion industry is a product of the modern age. Prior to the mid-19th century, most clothing was custom made. Clothing was handmade for individuals, either as home production or on order from dressmakers and tailors. By the beginning of the 20th century, with the rise of new technologies such as the sewing machine, and the rise of global capitalism and the development of the factory system of production, and the proliferation of retail outlets such as department stores, clothing came to be mass-produced in standard sizes and sold at fixed prices.
Ah, the true meaning behind the phrase “passion for fashion”!

The Fashion Industry Consists of Four Levels:

  1. The production of raw materials, principally fibers and textiles, but also leather and fur.
  2. The production of fashion goods by designers, manufacturers, contractors and others.
  3. Retail sales.
  4. Various forms of advertising and promotion.

These four levels consist of many separate but interdependent sectors. The sectors are:

  1. Textile Design
  2. Production
  3. Fashion Design
  4. Manufacturing
  5. Fashion Retailing
  6. Marketing
  7. Merchandising
  8. Fashion Shows
  9. Media Marketing

Major Influences in Fashion Trends:

  1. Political Influences
  2. Social Influences
  3. Technology Influences
  4. Economical Influences

Fashion Fun Fact: The media plays a significant role when it comes to fashion. An important part of fashion is fashion journalism. Editorial critique, guidelines and fashion commentary can be found on television, in magazines, in newspapers, fashion websites, social media sites, social networks and fashion blogs. In recent years, fashion blogging and YouTube videos have become a major outlet for spreading fashion trends and tips, creating an online culture of sharing one’s style on a website, Facebook, Twitter or Instagram account.
Let’s give a huge shout out to those who keep us abreast and informed on fashion garments beloved when we step out!

With the Thanksgiving holiday fast approaching, one sure way to enjoy and match your mood to the festive atmosphere is to doll up in the warm, glowing seasonal colors of oranges and golds. Sometimes it is fun to match and coordinate your makeup color combinations with the weather, your outfit, your mood, etc. Why not match it to the holiday!
Although I am one to experiment with makeup and feel that whichever color choices are preferred by the wearer are the right color combos, I think that gold eye shadows (whether glittered, cream or powder) and bold, ornamental orange lips look splendid together and absolutely smashing!

Eye Shadow Fun Fact: Eye shadow is a cosmetic that is applied on the eyelids and under the eyebrows. Eye shadow is commonly used to make the wearer’s eyes stand out or look more attractive. Eye shadow can add depth and dimension to one’s eyes, complement the eye color, make one’s eyes appear larger, or simply draw attention to the eyes. Eye shadow is usually made from a powder and mica, but can also be found in liquid, pencil, cream or mousse form.
Lipstick Fun Fact: Lipstick is a cosmetic product containing pigments, oils, waxes and emollients that apply color, texture and protection to the lips. Wax provides the structure to the solid lipstick. Lipsticks may be made from several waxes such as beeswax, ozokerite and candelilla wax. Because of its high melting point, Carnauba wax is the key ingredient in terms of strengthening the lipstick. Various oils and fats are used in lipstick, such as olive oil, mineral oil, cocoa butter, lanolin and petrolatum.
Nancy Mangano’s Makeup Tip: When it comes to the eyes and the lips, gold eye shadows and orange lipsticks appear alluring, warm and hip! I highly recommend you try it!

Gold Fun Fact: The color gold is the color of success, achievement and triumph. Associated with abundance and prosperity, luxury and quality, prestige and sophistication, value and elegance, the psychology of the color implies affluence, material wealth and extravagance!
Radiate and luxuriate your face in glowing, glorious, gorgeous gold eye shadow tones!
Orange Fun Fact: The color orange radiates warmth and happiness, combining the physical energy and stimulation of red with the cheerfulness of yellow. Orange offers emotional strength in difficult times. The bold, bright, upbeat color helps us bounce back from disappointment and despair, assisting in recovery from grief.
Coat your luscious lips with opulent orange shades and turn your frown upside down. A kissable orange mouth stands out in any crowd!

If bright golds and oranges are too much for you and you adore the color scheme but prefer a more toned down look, you can still stick to fabulous, fashionable golds and oranges with these various shades of the colors:
Various Shades of the Color Gold:

  1. Light Brown
  2. Beige
  3. Bronze
  4. Tan

Various Shades of the Color Orange:

  1. Peach
  2. Golden Orange
  3. Amber
  4. Burnt Orange
  5. Tangerine

The warm effects of orange and gold! Eye shadow and lipstick combinations to behold!

Depending on your skin tone (light/fair, medium, olive, dark) gold and orange makeup combinations work well and both enhance and bring out your features. Gold shades of eye shadows look rich, regal and trendy. Orange lips look the bomb (much like a classic red painted lip) and can be noticed clear across the room!
Lipstick Fun Fact: Lipstick is such a powerful cosmetic, being both sensual and sexual. Ancient Sumerian men and women were probably the first to invent and wear lipstick, about 5,000 years ago. They crushed gemstones and used them to decorate their faces, mainly on the lips and around the eyes. Also around 3000 BC to 1500 BC, women in the ancient Indus Valley Civilization applied red tinted lipstick to their face for decoration. Ancient Egyptians wore lipstick to show social status rather than gender.
Eye Shadow Fun Fact: Eye shadow can be applied in a wide variety of ways, depending upon the desired look and formulation. Typically application is done using fingers or brushes. The most important aspect of applying eye shadow, especially if you are applying more than one color, is to blend well. You desire an over the top dramatic look? Then don’t blend the colors at all, let each color stand out bold on its own!

Lipstick Fashion Tip: If you prefer a dry, more drawn out mouth, use a matte lipstick. If you prefer the wet look, go with a lip gloss. To avoid bleeding and to accentuate the mouth, line your upper and bottom lips with a matching lip liner pencil (or similar shade) to shape and highlight your mouth!
Oh, give me that joyous, sexy, appealing, sensual orange pout! That’s what I’m talking about!
