I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. In my fashion and beauty opinion, the two cosmetic items that are most important to add glamour, allure and magic to the face are mascara and lipstick! If you can only choose two makeup items to put in your cosmetic bag, choose those two and your fabulous face will thank you.

Long, thick, luscious eyelashes area a sign of health and beauty. Long, thick eyelashes not only look beautiful, but they draw out the appeal and allure of your eyes. Your eyelashes are to your eyes what a fabulous frame is to a picture; they highlight the overall look.

An eyelash is one of the hairs that grows at the edge of the eyelid. Eyelashes protect the eye from debris and perform some of the same functions as whiskers do on a cat or mouse, in the sense that they are sensitive to being touched, thus providing a warning that an object (dust, hair, etc.) is near the eye, which then closes reflexively.

Items needed to capture the essence and glamour of long, heathy eyelashes are mascara, an eyelash brush and if preferred, an eyelash curler. If you do use an eyelash curler, don’t press and close the grips too hard, as this can cause eyelashes to pull out.

Mascara Fun Fact: Mascara is a cosmetic commonly used to enhance the eyelashes. Mascara darkens, thickens, lengthens and helps to define the eyelashes. Mascara is available in three forms (liquid, cake, cream), and most contain the basic ingredients of oils, waxes and preservatives.  The thicker the coats of mascara applied, the thicker and more full your eyelashes will look.

For the most dramatic eyelash look of all, jet black mascara outdoes them all. However, colored mascara can be fun to experiment with and wear when you’re feeling unique, magical and whimsical!

Tips for Growing Long, Lush, Healthy Eyelashes:

  1. Vitamin E, Iron, Vitamin B12 – Just like your body, hair needs protein, iron and Vitamin B12 to stay strong and healthy. Vitamin E acts as an antioxidant that adds to healthy hair growth. Eyelashes are hair, so they need to be fed nutrients just like the hair on your head.
  2. Biotin (Vitamin H) – Promotes hair growth, texture and thickness.
  3. Petroleum Jelly – If you remove your mascara before you go to sleep, then apply petroleum jelly to your bare eyelashes and leave on overnight while you sleep, this will help your eyelashes to grow faster, thicker and stronger.
  4. Castor Oil/Olive Oil – These oils help to promote hair growth.
  5. Enriched Mascara – Many mascaras that are available for purchase today include lash boosting serums, botanicals and pro-vitamin enriched formulas.

Bat your eyes in lovely, long eyelashes!

Long eyelashes are considered a sign of beauty in many cultures. Did you know that you can enhance your eyelashes artificially, either by applying false eyelashes or using eyelash extensions? Permanent eyelash tints have also become a popular procedure provided in many salons. It is also possible to get eyelash transplants, which are similar in nature to hair transplantation done on the head. Since the eyelash hair is transported from the head, the new eyelashes will continue to grow.

Eyelash Fun Fact: The invention of the photograph and motion picture launched mascara’s popularity and usage in the United States. Motion pictures advertised a new standard of beauty and sex appeal. Famous actresses of the classic cinema era, such as Theda Bara, Pola Negri, Clara Bow, Greta Garbo, Marlene Dietrich, Bette Davis and Jean Harlow depended heavily on dramatic mascara applications for their glamorized appearances, which the mainstream public began to mimic.

Today, mascara is often used on a daily basis around the world. In 2016 alone, U.S. consumers spent 335.6 million dollars on the top ten leading mascara brands.

Yes, beauty is a billion dollar business!

For the animal lovers out there, eyelashes, being hair, are found on mammals. Camels have eyelashes that are remarkably long and thick. Horses and cows have long eyelashes also. Inherited eyelash problems are common in some breeds of dogs and horses. Not much different than people!

Eyelash Fun Fact: The average eyelash takes about seven to eight weeks to grow back if pulled out, and constant pulling may lead to permanent damage, stunting hair growth.

Eyelashes bedazzling and beguiling being lush, lovely, luxurious and long are truly a fashion and beauty bomb!

“Baby, baby, baby, bat your lovely, lush, long eyelashes at me.”

“I’m flattered you’re admiring my luxurious eyelashes, you see.”

“Are your eyelashes naturally that long, or could your lashes be fake?”

“These are my own lashes coated with mascara. Black mascara takes the cake.”

“Your extra long lashes add to the allure, appeal and attractiveness of your eyes.”

“Yes. The longer the lashes, the larger your eyes appear in size.”

Long Eyelashes: A true beauty masterpiece!

Hairstyles can make or break a look, and a popular hair do that never goes out of style is the braid. A braid is a complex structure or pattern formed by interlacing three or more strands of flexible material such as textile yarns, wire and of course, hair! Compared with the process of weaving, which usually involves two separate, perpendicular groups of strands (warp and weft), a braid is usually long and narrow, with each component strand functionally equivalent in zigzagging forward through the overlapping mass of the others.

In other words, completed braids resemble a criss-cross hair pattern!

Popular Types of Braids:

  1. Box Braids: Hair braids which are characterized by boxy or square shaped hair divisions. They are typically created by adding synthetic braiding hair. This hairstyle is a means of protective styling.
  2. Cornrows: An ancient traditional African style of hair grooming, in which the hair is braided very close to the scalp, using an underhand, upward motion to produce a continuous, raised row. Cornrows are often formed in simple, straight lines.
  3. Crochet Braids: Also known as latch hook braids, this braiding hair type involves crocheting synthetic hair extensions to a person’s natural hair with a latch hook or crochet hook.
  4. Fishtail Braids: Also known as the Herringbone, this braid includes a weaving of separate strands where the finished braid resembles the tail/bones look of a fish.
  5. French Braids: This braid includes three sections of hair that are braided together from the crown of the head to the nape of the neck.
  6. Standard Braids: Two or three sections of hair are overlapped, creating the standard, twisted braid.

Happening types of hair braids that are easy to be made!

Braid Fun Fact: The oldest known reproduction of hair braiding may go back about 30,000 years; the Venus of Willendorf, now known in academia as the Woman of Willendorf, is a female figurine estimated to have been made between about 28,000 and 25,000 BC. It has been disputed whether or not she wears braided hair or some sort of woven basket on her head. The Venus of Brassempouy is estimated to be about 25,000 years old and shows a braided hairstyle.

The braided hairstyle began growing in popularity around the world. During the Bronze Age and Iron Age many peoples in the Near East, Asia Minor, Caucasus, East Mediterranean, North Africa, Ancient Egyptians, Ancient Greeks, Babylonians, Amorites, Hittites, Mitanni, Israelites, Persians, Medes, Chaldeans, Armenians, and more are depicted in art with braided hair.

Long or short, here to there, look spectacular and splendid with braided hair!

Braiding is traditionally a social art. Because of the time it takes to braid hair, people have often taken time to socialize while braiding and having their hair braided. It began with elders making simple knots and braids for younger children. Older children watched and learned from them, started practicing on younger children, and eventually learned the traditional braid designs. This carried on a tradition of bonding between elders and the new generation.

Cornrow Braids Fun Fact: Depending on the region of the world, cornrows are often worn by men and women and are often adorned with beads or cowry shells. Cornrows are easy maintenance, as rows can be left in for weeks at a time if maintained through careful washing of hair and regular oiling of the scalp.

Braid Not So Fun Fact: Braids pulled too tight or worn for considerable lengths of time can cause a type of hair loss known as traction alopecia.

Crochet Braids Fun Fact: While crochet braids are a hybrid of traditional braids, they’re considered to be more similar to weaves. The natural hair can be twisted or braided, but is most commonly styled into cornrows before affixing the synthetic hair. Using a latch hook or crochet hook, the synthetic hair (in the form of loose bulk) is then attached. Parts of the hair extensions are grabbed by the hook and pulled through the underside of each cornrow, working from the front of the hair to the back at a 90 degree angle.

Whether your braid preference is box, crochet, cornrow, fishtail, standard or French, no matter which braid you step out in, be assured you and your hair will look and feel your best!

Braid Fun Fact: The Dutch braid and the Fishtail braid are both variations of the gorgeous French braid!

“The length of your hair is spectacular, it goes almost to the floor.”

“Shorter haircuts are beautiful also, sometimes less is more.”

“I see you braided your hair; it must have taken hours to do.”

“A professional hair stylist made my braid; I sat in a chair, she made the do.”

“The type of braid is exquisite with a different braided look than I know.”

“This here is the fishtail braid. When I walk it swings too and fro.”

Braids: A trendy, well known hairstyle that works every time…mile to mile!

Occasionally playing dress up is fun: getting dolled up, spruced up, pampered and prettied up for a special party or event. For the fashion lover, and those who prefer a more dressed down look, wrapping yourself in a gorgeous, glamorous evening gown can be downright enjoyable.

An evening gown is a long flowing women’s dress, usually worn to a formal affair. The dress can range from tea and ballerina to full length.  Evening gowns are usually made of luxurious fabrics such as chiffon, velvet, satin, organza, etc. Silk is a popular fiber for many evening gowns.

Evening Gown Fun Fact: Although the terms are often used interchangeably, ball gowns and evening gowns differ in that a ball gown will always have a full skirt and a fitted bodice; in contrast, an evening gown can be any silhouette — sheath, mermaid, A-line or trumpet shaped, and may have an empire or dropped waist.

Evening wear for women, sometimes also known as court dress based on its creation at royal courts, has its origins in the 15th century with the rise of the Burgundian court and its fashionable and fashion-conscious ruler Philip the Good. Wool was the most dominant of fabrics for dresses, and the ladies of the court simply added a train to their kirtle for formal occasions. Rich fabrics and fibers were usually the domain of the nobility, and clothing was still used as an identifier of social ranks and status.

The dawn of the Renaissance slowly changed the rigid social rank system, and allowed wealthy Patricians and merchants to visibly display their success.

Ah, the allure, appeal and style of the elegant evening gown is now revered the world ’round!

Evening gowns are particularly popular in black, with royal blue and red or burgundy close behind!

White Tie Occasions: When worn to white tie occasions, the evening gown is generally more elaborate than when worn to black tie events. Often the silhouette will be fuller, to match the “very formal” white tie attire worn by men. Today, the evening gown is becoming more frequent in women’s formal wear, even at white tie occasions, but fashion etiquette states that ball gowns must be worn. (Fashion Divas often make their own rules)!

Black Tie Occasions: When attending a black tie event, evening gowns can range from tea length (mid calf to the ankle) to full length (to the floor). In general, the same rules of a white tie event apply to a black tie event, although in some cases a cocktail dress is acceptable (think New Year’s Eve)!

Although all evening gowns are stunning, my most favorite and preferred gown by far is the mermaid. With it’s form fitting, hip hugging style and the outward drape of the hemline, the mermaid dress is beautiful…the queen of land and sea!

Eye catching evening gowns for a special night on the town!

Evening Gown Fun Fact: Evening gowns gained prominence in beauty pageants, both national and international. Judges in the beauty pageants score the contestants in the evening gown segment, the highest of which is propelled to the top 5. Most pageants offer awards such as “Best in Evening Gown” to the contestants with the most beautiful dresses. Usually, the crowning moment shows the winner and the rest of the pageant contestants in evening gowns.

Evening Gown Fun Fact: During the Edwardian era, the s-shaped figure was fashionable, which included a very narrow waist. Immediately preceding and during World War I, style lines and cuts became looser and more fluid as a precursor to the boyish silhouettes of the 1920s. During this time, the hemlines of evening gowns rose and cuts were simple, to match the new lifestyle of the Flapper era.

The 1930s introduced bias cuts and artificial fibers. Along with the empire cut, over the years the sheath, mermaid, A-line and trumpet shapes became popular. The dropped waist and princess styles were also trending, depending on the era. Grace Kelly is noted for wearing understated evening gowns!

Evening gowns are extraordinary dresses to be worn to extraordinary events such as formal dinners, the opera, theater premieres, formal dances, The Academy Awards, other awards events, evening wedding receptions and charity balls.

“Your black gown is lovely; you are by far the most exquisite lady on the dance floor.”

“This is my sultry, slinky mermaid gown…the material is less but the beauty is more.”

“Why don’t you do me a favor and swim across the dance floor for me?”

“A true mermaid moves only elegantly, gracefully and beautifully.”

“I’d like to have the next slow dance with you if you are up for that.”

“I’ll be happy to swing and sway with you, but for fashion etiquette, remove your hat!”

Evening Gowns: Always take center stage and be the style boss as you dance dressed splendidly through the town in an opulent, glamorous evening gown!

Sheer fabric, sometimes referred to as see-through clothing, is fabric which is made using thin thread and/or low density knit, and which results in a semi-transparent and flimsy cloth. Some fabrics become transparent when wet. Sheer clothing is often made with lace, mesh or sheer material that allows the wearer’s body or undergarments to be seen through the fabric. Other see-through materials include chiffon, georgette and fine-denier knits used in tights and stockings, dancewear and lingerie.

Sheer garments that look incredible when worn consist of pants, shirts, dresses and gowns!

The sheerness of a fabric is expressed as a numerical denier which ranges from 3 (extremely rare, very thin, barely visible) to 15 (standard sheer for stockings) up to 30 (semi opaque) until 100 (opaque). The materials which can be translucent include gossamer, silk, rayon and nylon. Sheer fabric comes in a wide variety of colors, with white and shades of white, such as cream, eggshell, winter white and ivory being very popular. Black is another great color for sheer clothing. In some cases, the sheer fabric is embellished with embroidered patterns or designs. Sheer beauty!

Wearing sheer clothing for the sheer pleasure of it!

Sheer fabric is extremely popular in evening gowns. As sheer clothing tends to look sultry, elegant and fashionable, dressy clothing is the perfect item to show off the beauty and bold look of sheer fabrics.

Sheer Fabric Fun Fact: Sheer fabrics wear well in warmer months, although they work all year round. Sheer fabrics look spectacular covering undergarments, providing a provocative yet conservative style at the same time. Throughout the 19th century women’s dresses, particularly for summer or evening wear, often featured transparent fabrics. However, these were almost always lined or worn over opaque undergarments, or  underdresses, so that the wearer’s modesty was preserved.

Wrapping your diva self in sheer clothing brings sheer delight!

A fashionable garment in the early 20th century was the “peekaboo waist”, a blouse made from sheer fabric. See-through and transparent clothing became very fashionable in the latter part of the 1960s. The see-through look was presented by fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent, and in London, Ossie Clark presented sheer chiffon dresses intended to be worn without underwear. This trend led to jewelry designers creating “body jewelry” to be worn with sheer blouses and low-cut dresses.

Sheer clothing offsets a woman’s physique and beauty when worn with either long or short tresses!

Famous Portraits Showing Women in Sheer Clothing:

  1. Marie Antoinette
  2. Point de Convention
  3. Portrait of Lady Elizabeth Levesen Gower
  4. Portrait of Elena Cherikova Stroganova
  5. Portrait of Two Sisters
  6. The Gallery of H.M.S. Calcutta
  7. Portrait of Sonja Knips

Create your own fashion portrait of sheer sensual style when you dress in sheer fabrics…bring on that smile!

See-through materials of various kinds continue to be available for a wide range of clothing styles. Sheer fabrics have been featured on high-fashion runways since 2006. This use of see-through fabrics as a common element in designer clothing resulted in the “sheer fashion trend” that has been predominant in fashion circles since 2008.

Sheer fabrics, due to their sultry, soft, elegant appeal and allure work well as material to use in true haute couture!

Sheer Fabric: High end clothing, for sure!

Sheer Clothing Fun Fact: A see-through dress worn by Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, to a charity fashion show in 2002 was sold at auction on March 17, 2011 for $127,500.

“I cannot pass up this chance to tell you of my sheer delight in viewing your sheer clothing.”

“My see-through garments look fantastic whether I’m off to a party or merely strolling.”

“You do wear them well, presenting dainty undergarments and a little bit of skin.”

“In order to pull this look off you should be 100 percent comfortable in the skin you’re in.”

“You do move like a fashionista…sensual, confident with much sass and style.”

“I walk with the grace and charm of a diva…whether I move one step or one mile.”

It makes no difference if your hair length preference is long or short, there is no denying that sleek, silky, straight hair looks fabulous! Lustrous, smooth, straight hair frames all face shapes and wears well with all types of clothing and garments. Even hats!

What exactly is this “hair” that we all love and crave and spend so much time washing, drying, styling and cutting? Hair is a protein filament that grows from follicles found in the dermis. Hair is one of the defining characteristics of mammals. The human body, apart from areas of glabrous skin, is covered in follicles which produce thick terminal and fine vellus  hair. Most common interests in hair is focused on hair growth, hair types and hair care, but hair is also an important biomaterial primarily composed of protein, notably alpha-keratin.

Curls are glorious and represent a girl with her sugar and spice, but straight, sensuous, sexy hair always looks nice!

For a knock-out look that will bang one out of the park, wispy or blunt bangs worn with straight hair look youthful, playful and fabulous!

Hair Fun Fact: The word “hair” usually refers to two distinct structures: the hair follicle (the part beneath the skin), and the hair shaft, which is the hard filamentous part that extends above the skin surface. Hair fibers have a structure consisting of several layers, starting from the outside: the cuticle, the cortex and the medulla.

Each and every strand of hair is made up of the cuticle, cortex and medulla.

Silky straight hair, when flowing down the back, can cause an eye popping, alluring heart attack! Sheer straight beauty.

How do you obtain straight hair, especially if your hair tends to be naturally wavy or curly?

Three Ways to Straighten Your Hair:

  1. Using a hot iron or flat iron
  2. Using a blow dryer or hair dryer
  3. Using natural ways

Hot irons work well because they provide heat, and heat acts as a hair straightener. If you take small sections of your hair, and run the hot/flat iron down each section from the scalp to the ends, your hair will obtain the silky straight texture that you are trying to create.

Hair dryers and blow dryers work much the same way. If you take a sturdy, good styling brush and place the blow dryer on your roots, then take the brush the entire way down to your ends, keeping the blow dryer moving along with the brush, your hair will automatically straighten. This is why if your hair is damp and wavy, applying heat from the blow dryer and continually brushing the hair, the waves will be removed.

For cost effective flat irons and blow dryers that work magical hair wonders, why not try one of these items?

KIPOZI Professional Titanium Flat Iron Hair Straightener with Digital LCD Display ,Dual Voltage,Instant Heat Up(1.75 inch wide, black)

Magnifeko 1875W Professional Hair Dryer with Ionic Conditioning – Powerful, Fast Hairdryer Blow Dryer – 2 Speeds, 3 Heat Settings

For hair that is sure to mesmerize and illuminate, go straight!

Straight Hair Fashion Tip: For those of you with brittle or damaged hair, you can still obtain glamorous, silky, straight tresses naturally! Good news!

WAYS TO STRAIGHTEN YOUR HAIR NATURALLY:

  1. Brush wet hair until it dries.
  2. Wrap wet hair tightly. You can wrap your wet hair in a silk scarf and sleep on it to reduce frizz.
  3. Roll your hair. This works with large rollers. Let your hair dry completely before you remove the rollers, then brush.
  4. Ponytails. Divide damp hair into two low ponytails, then add additional elastics every inch or so down the ponytail to hold the hair together. When the hair is dry, remove the ponytails and elastic. Brush to straighten.
  5. Twist hair into a bun. Wrap damp hair into a bun and don’t cover…let your hair air dry, the brush out.

To all of these methods, add a few drops of sweet almond or coconut oil to tame frizz and smooth out the look. For selfie or magazine ready hair, spray hair gloss over the hair. Beautiful, alluring and easy hair care!

Straight hair is chic, stylish, trendy and classy, for a head of hair that mixes sweet school girl with savvy and sassy!

Four Types of Hair Classifications:

  1. Straight Hair
  2. Wavy Hair
  3. Curly Hair
  4. Kinky Hair

Whatever your natural hair type, yes, attractive all, even kinky, wavy and curly hair can be styled for a straight fall.

Sleek, straight hair for the long and short of it!

“Your hair is so straight and soft. May I run my fingers through your tresses?”

“You can look but don’t touch. Would you want me pawing all your dresses?”

“I would think hair that straight would look thin, but your hair is thick and full.”

“My hair is also chic, shiny and glimmering….never breaking, dry or dull.”

“Is your hair naturally straight or do you style it to fall luxuriously straight down?”

“I use a flat iron strand by strand for a hairstyle that works in business and around town.”

Straight Hair: A classic hairstyle that needs no explanation…either for the long or short of it!

Of all the types of skirts on the fashion market, my favorite by far is the pencil skirt. Yes, I adore the miniskirt and I find maxi skirts to be casual and pretty, but there is just something about the pencil skirt that gives the garment that “it” factor that makes the skirt stand out heads and tails above their sister skirts.
Pencil skirts (true pencil skirts where the  hemline fits right at the knee) come across as sultry, sexy, beautiful, form-fitting, enticing, alluring, slinky and appealing. Not a bad combination for one skirt!
There’s no need to speak flirty lingo when dressed in a pencil skirt: no words needed because the skirt will control the flirt! A true glamour girl always lets her clothes do the talking; she does the strut filled walking!

A skirt is the lower part of a dress or gown, covering the wearer from the waist downwards, or a separate outer garment serving this purpose.
Pencil Skirt Fun Fact: A pencil skirt is a slim-fitting skirt with a straight, narrow cut. Generally, the hem falls to, or just below, the knee and is tailored for a close fit. The pencil skirt gets its name for its shape: long and slim like a pencil.
Pencil skirts look great when worn as a separate piece of clothing (especially worn with a crop top) or as part of a dress suit or business suit. A pencil skirt usually has a vent or pleat in the back, or sometimes on the side of the skirt, since its slim, narrow shape can restrict walking and movement of the wearer. Due to the tight fit of the pencil skirt, the wearer is forced to take smaller, delicate, sexy steps!

The pencil skirt clings and hugs the body in all the “write” places. Show off your hips, curves and lower legs and catch the attention of people’s grateful faces!
Nancy Mangano’s Pencil Skirt Fashion Tip: The ideal shoes for wearing with a pencil skirt are high-heeled pumps, platform stilettos, strappy heeled sandals or high-heeled ankle boots. The higher the heel, the better the look. The high heel, when paired with the pencil skirt, emits a highly pleasing aesthetic fashion vibe and adds some sway and swagger to your sexy, feminine walk! For over the top glamour, go bare legged, or wear opaque stockings or sheer stockings! Beautiful!

Pencil skirts and narrow fitting skirts have a long history in western fashion. The predecessor to the pencil skirt is the hobble skirt, a pre-World War I fad inspired by the Ballets Russes. This full length skirt with a narrow hem seriously impeded walking, but wow, was it ever worth the costs. Fashion isn’t meant to be practical, but practically aesthetically pleasing and perfect!
A true fashion diva struts her stuff like a queen! No “behind the scenes” effort to be seen!
Pencil Skirt Fun Fact: The French designer Christian Dior introduced the classic modern pencil skirt in his 1954 Autumn Winter collection. This skirt quickly became popular with women, particularly for office wear, since the skirt is business appropriate yet still sensual, sleek and sexy. The success of the pencil skirt was due to women’s desire for new fashions in the wake of the Second World War rationing, coupled with the austere economic climate, when fabrics were expensive.

The pencil skirt feels different from looser fitting skirts, and impacts the wearer’s movements and posture. Due to the form fitting hemline, walking needs to be done in short strides, and entering and leaving a car gracefully may take some practice.  When sitting, the legs and knees are close together.
The outcome? Activities such as climbing ladders and riding bicycles can be very difficult in a pencil skirt. However, activities such as turning heads and feeling va-va-voom sexy when dressed in a pencil skirt are a sure deal!
The pencil skirt by far is the “write” skirt for a right high heel! Fashion and style ideal!
Basic Types of Popular Skirts:

  1. A-line skirt
  2. Bell shaped skirt
  3. Circle skirt
  4. Divided skirt
  5. Full skirt
  6. Inverted Pleated skirt
  7. Pencil skirt
  8. Pleated skirt
  9. Short skirt
  10. Straight skirt
  11. Underskirt
  12. Wrap skirt

The pencil skirt: the “write” skirt for all occasions!

Since the 1970s and the rise of pants for women as a fashion option, no one skirt length has dominated fashion for long, but the alluring pencil skirt is at the top for a stylish, glamorous look that always remains fashion strong!
“I dare say, watching you walk in that sleek fitting skirt is a pleasing sight to behold.”
“I adore my hip hugging pencil skirt. I feel empowered, sexy, feminine and bold.”
“Your skirt paired with the ruffled blouse and your five inch heels makes me want to stare.”
“If you ever master the pencil skirt and stiletto heels it’s all you’ll want to wear.”
“I’d ask if I could borrow your pencil, but you’ll probably give me a yellow number 2.”
“You’ll need to write your own fashion ticket and buy a pencil skirt for you!”
Pencil Skirt: Take the test…dress in a pencil skirt! You’ll not only pass the test, but you’ll never go wrong. Be fashion strong all day long!

The most essential way to make your eyes stand out is by accentuating and enhancing the eyelashes. The shape and width of the eyebrow is a close second.
Long, full, luxurious eyelashes are like the lovely picture frame that enhances the picture and makes the photograph look larger, more inviting and allows it to stand out. Lengthy, dark eyelashes add depth, beauty and glamour to your eyes.
One way to ensure great, larger than life eyelashes? False eyelashes!

An eyelash is one of the hairs that grows at the edge of the eyelid. Eyelashes protect the eye from debris and perform some of the same functions as whiskers do on a cat or mouse, in the sense that they are sensitive to being touched, thus providing a warning that on object (such as an insect) is near they eye, which then closes reflexively.
Eyelash Fun Fact: Long eyelashes are considered a sign of beauty in many cultures. Accordingly, some women seek to enhance their eyelash length artificially, using eyelash extensions or false eyelashes. Permanent eyelash tints and eyelash extensions have also become popular procedures, even in fairly basic salons.

False eyelashes are worth batting an eyelash for!
Five Steps to Make False Eyelashes Look Natural:

  1. Choose eyelashes that have a clear or invisible band.
  2. Wear single or trio lashes over strip lashes.
  3. Use dark lash glue that won’t leave a white residue.
  4. Apply false eyelashes to your real lashes.
  5. Use dark black mascara to blend your real and false eyelashes together.

Nancy Mangano’s False Eyelash Tip: I find false eyelashes to look absolutely beautiful, even when it is apparent that the eyelashes are fake. Much like wearing makeup. Eye shadow adds color, eyeliner adds definition, false eyelashes add lush, full lashes. It doesn’t matter if they are fake…the completed effect is gorgeous! All cosmetics enhance your appearance when applied correctly, yet no one professes that all makeup is natural! So, hail false eyelashes. Your beautiful, beguiling eyes will thank you!

Eyelash Fun Fact: Kohl, a black putty (usually antimony sulfide or lead sulfide) has been worn as far back as the Bronze Age to protect and enhance lashes. In Ancient Egypt, kohl was used as well by the wealthy and the royal to protect their eyes from the sand, dust and bugs.
Modern eye makeup includes mascara, eyeliner, eye putty and eye shadow to emphasize the eyes.
False Eyelash Fun Fact: The twentieth century saw the beginning of convincing false eyelashes, popular in the 1960s. There are also different tools that can be used on the lashes, such as eyelash curlers or mascara shields (mascara guards).

Animal Eyelash Fun Fact: Lashes, being hair, are found in mammals. Camels’ eyelashes are remarkably long and thick. Horses and cows feature eyelashes as well. Inherited eyelash problems are common in some breeds of dogs and horses.
Who is that bathing beauty batting her beautiful, bountiful eyelashes?

My oh my, where did you get those exaggerated eyelashes that add oomph and wow to your eyes? Your long eyelashes certainly enlarge your eye size!

Eyelash Fun Fact: Latisse was introduced in the first quarter of 2009 by Allergan as the first drug to receive Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval for eyelash growth. Latisse is a solution of bimatoprost, the active component of the glaucoma medication Lumigan. According to Allergan, noticeable eyelash growth occurs within 16 weeks. Growth is reported to occur primarily on the upper eyelashes.
The past decade has seen the rapid increase in the development of eyelash conditioners. These conditioners are designed to increase the health and length of your lashes. Many eyelash conditioners utilize seed extract, minerals, and other chemicals to achieve these results.

For a trend that’s here to stay and adds luster and luxury to your eyes, go the false eyelash way!
“I couldn’t help but eye the radiant eyelashes the surround your eyes!”
“My long, full, divine eyelashes extend and add depth to my eye size.”
“Will you do me a favor and bat your gorgeous, glorious eyelashes at me?”
“I’ll give you a playful, bashful look with a demure, youthful glare, do you see?”
“Oh wow. To have your full attention and your lovely eyes focused on me is fine!”
“It’s a much better, complimentary way to flirt than asking “What’s your sign?”‘
False Eyelashes: For exquisite eyes that stand out and look simply divine!

For most high schoolers, May is the month of gearing up to study for finals, planning summer vacations and celebrating that the school year is coming to a close by attending the famous dance known as “prom.”
A prom is a semi-formal (black tie) dance or gathering of high school students. The prom is typically held near the end of the junior and senior year. Proms figure greatly in popular culture and are major events among high school students. The event is often a combined junior/senior dance.
A popular tradition at prom, besides exchanging corsages and boutonnieres, are formal, gorgeous, glorious dresses and gowns to be worn by the females.

Prom Fun Fact: At a prom, a Prom King and Prom Queen may be revealed. These are honorary titles awarded to students elected in a school-wide vote prior to the prom, and these titles are generally awarded to seniors. Other students may be honored with inclusion in a “Prom Court.” The Prom King and Prom Queen are often given crowns to wear. Members of the Prom Court may be given sashes to wear and photographed together.
In the early days of high school proms, the nighttime dance served a function similar to a debutante ball. Early proms were times of firsts: the first adult social event for teenagers; the first time taking the family car or fancy limousine out after dark; the first real dress up affair, etc., similar to a milestone event such as a First Holy Communion or a wedding.

Prom Fun Fact: Usage of the term ‘prom’ is becoming more common around the world and appears to be a colloquial and regional practice. Formal English usage suggests “Prom” is a noun and should be preceded by an article, although it is often not a practice. “Prom” is a shortened version of promenade.
Popular Prom Attire:

  1. Girls wear traditional ladies’ dresses or evening gowns and adorn themselves with fancy jewelry such as earrings and a necklace. Girls often wear perfume, makeup, lipstick and blush. Girls also wear a corsage (either wrist or pin-on) given to them by their prom dates. Many times girls have their hair professionally styled for their big night.
  2. Boys often dress in black or white formal wear, sometimes paired with ties or bow ties with vests, in some cases in colors matching their date’s dress. Boys are given matching boutonnieres to be worn on their lapels by their dates.

Prom Fun Fact: After the prom, parents or a community may host a “prom after-party” at a restaurant, entertainment venue or a student’s home. Other traditions often include trips to nearby attractions, such as amusement parks, regional or local parks, or family or rented vacation houses. Some of these post-prom events are chaperoned and some are unsupervised. Most after-prom events are held at the school, and involve bringing entertainment such as interactive games, artists and other entertainers to the school.
Always follow the golden rule: dress off the charts glam for the Prom held at school!

Prom Fun Fact: The concept of extending prom to homeschooled students has increased in recent years. Although some school districts in the United States and Canada allow homeschool students to attend prom in the school district where they reside, many homeschool groups also organize their own proms. Some states, such as Oregon, Ohio, Georgia, Tennessee and Michigan also host statewide homeschool proms, which any homeschool student is welcome to attend. Glorious!
Primped and poised for a perfect prom!

Although all of these prom dresses are beautiful, I am particularly fond of this off-the-shoulder, sleek dress in the baby doll pink. I love the dainty look, the silk fabric and the mermaid style cut! Stunning!

The custom of the high school prom exists in many parts of the world, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Africa, Asia, the Honduras, Peru, Mexico, Trinidad and Tobago and most Caribbean countries, Uruguay and many others.
Prom Fun Fact: While high school year books didn’t start covering proms and including prom pictures until the 1930s and 1940s, historians believe proms have existed in high schools as early as the 19th century. The prom has since taken on a larger-than-life meaning for high school students.

As people gained more money and leisure time, proms have become more extravagant and elaborate. Junior and senior proms are often held at hotel ballrooms and country clubs, as opposed to the school gymnasium. Where arriving in a compact or standard car was once acceptable, luxury cars and limousines often transports high schoolers today. In some ways, the prom has become the pinnacle of high school events in a student’s life.
Be prom smart, dress the stylish, fashionable, gorgeous, sensational part!

Step into an evening of the high life…dress and dance away the stress and strife of homework and daily life.
“I find you to be extremely caring and nice.”
“I fit the stereotype of  a girl? Made of sugar and spice?”
“I would be honored  if you would accompany me to the Prom as my date.”
“I’m thrilled to accept your invitation. I’m excited and can hardly wait.”
“When you select your gown let me know the colors so we can match.”
“We’ll make a fabulous, fashionable pair. With you I have a great catch!”
Dress prom perfect: Steal the fashion scene from the king and queen!
