Perfume is in a category of its own! Whether you purchase perfume for yourself or for others, perfume and cologne make a great gift for everyone. Splurge on yourself; you’re worth it!

When someone passes you on the street who is adorned in delicious smelling perfume or cologne, you notice them. Their mere wonderful scent can entice your senses and make you want to follow them. You will definitely inhale to get another “delicious” whiff of that grand smell! The perfume and cologne industry is a billion dollar business and rightfully so. A fantastic aroma is revered and adored.

Have you ever wondered why so many of us never leave the house without spraying on our favorite perfume or dabbing our neck with our preferred cologne? Blame it on your pheromones! A pheromone is a secreted or excreted chemical factor that triggers a social response in members of the same species. Pheromones are chemicals capable of acting like hormones outside your body that impacts the behavior of other people. Yes, you truly can credit your love of perfumes and colognes to biology.

Perfumes and colognes contain mixtures of essential oils and aromatic compounds that are used to give your body an agreeable scent. They generally come in liquid format and are used to add an attractive fragrance to your body. Most perfumes are sprayed lightly on the neck, behind the ears and on your wrists.

Many fashion designers depend on their designer scents to bring in major sales for their fashion and beauty brands. Versace, Calvin Klein, L’Oreal, Estee Lauder, Chanel, Marc Jacobs, and Yves St. Laurent are just a few worldwide brands that manufacture perfumes and colognes. Celebrities such as Jennifer Lopez and Kim Kardashian have also launched successful perfume lines.

Since our pheromones are known to function in mate selection, it’s no wonder we often dab on glorious perfumes or splash on cologne before going on a first date. Pleasing aromas attract us, much like we notice yummy food smells when we enter our favorite restaurant. Enticing and appetizing! Sweet smelling perfumes and colognes can elevate your mood and improve your attitude.

If you’re not quite sure what to get for the guy or gal who has everything, a new spectacular scented perfume or cologne is always a winning way to go!

Our passion for perfume “nose” no bounds!

If you ever want to stand out in a crowd, make a dazzling entrance, or feel absolutely gorgeous, dress in pink. Pink is a color that is dainty, feminine, bold and romantic, don’t you think?

Monochrome (meaning various shades of only one color) makeup and clothing is stylish, fashionable and hot! This spring/summer, why not go head-to-toe in pink? Whether you prefer baby doll pink, fuchsia, salmon, rose or neon pink, stepping out adorned in pink is glorious.

Various shades of pink makeup looks intimate, refreshing and glamorous. The color pink is made by mixing red and white…a bold color and pure light. When combined, the result is stunning.

In color psychology, pink is a sign of hope. It is considered a positive color that inspires warm and comforting feelings, providing a sense that everything is going to be okay. Think of the phrase “in the pink”, meaning good health and wealth, and the phrase “everything is rosy”, signifying all is well and successful. Here’s a toast to pink!

When dressed in pink, heads will turn, all eyes will be on you and you will truly be the belle of the ball.

Mirror, mirror on the wall. Who rises above them all? The ones dressed in pink, I think!

The color pink represents: Unconditional love, romantic love, compassion, nurturing and hope.

What emotions do you feel when you see pink clothing and makeup, or pink flowers and candy? Most likely you experience a soothing, calming effect. Pink is the color of love, romance and affection. Is there any doubt why pink is one of the main colors that represents Valentine’s Day?

When dressing in style, monochrome pink is the way to go.

Hot pink needs no explanation. Hot pink is well, simply hot!

Pink in color psychology calms and reassures our emotional energies, alleviating feelings of anger, aggression, resentment, and neglect. Pink is a non-threatening color that represents sweetness and innocence.

So whether you’re attending a wedding, prom, a Sunday brunch, a birthday party or a day at the beach, dress in pretty pink and feel, just peachy!

The color pink and the calming link!

It’s nearing time to welcome in the sizzling, wonderful, exciting, crazy and lazy days of summer. Summer is my favorite season and brings us vacations, a break from school, long warm days and evenings, barbeques, beaches and fun in the sun. Summer is a glorious season that is revered by most everyone.

Although many people look forward to the warmer temperatures and getting to wear fashionable summer clothing (mainly shorts, sleeveless shirts, flip flops and baby doll dresses), there are lots of people who fear and loathe putting on the dreaded bathing suit. There is a perfect remedy for you, whether you’re walking along the sand and surf, relaxing on a sailboat or cruise ship or merely spending time at the beach. There are numerous cute, lightweight long or short dresses that work perfectly to conceal your body, but allow you to move freely while still enjoying the radiant sunshine.

Welcome the sundress! Sexy, airy, cool!

Surf, sand and fun in the sun. There are adorable beach dresses to suit the personal fashion taste of every woman!

For those of you that want to feel the thrill of your bare feet sinking into the sand, yet slip your body into a cool, cute dress, why not go with a sarong? A sarong is a large tube shape of material or length of fabric that is wrapped around the waist, thereby making a skirt. A sarong is generally fastened by tucking one corner of the fabric into the opposite end of the material, much like wrapping a beach towel around your waist. Sarongs can be worn with a bathing suit top, or if you prefer to cover your midriff section, a tube top or tank top. You can still enjoy the soothing effects of the sun without having to worry about a fit physique or a painful sunburn.

Some perfect dresses to wear to the beach are sarongs, maxi skirts, baby doll dresses and lightweight, cotton summer dresses. These dainty dresses are airy enough to let you breathe and move freely, as they provide far more body coverage than a bathing suit.

For those of you that prefer to enjoy the beach in a sarong, even if worn over the bathing suit you have on, there is another way to tie the sarong to ensure it stays snug and tight, not falling off while you jog the beach or play frisbee or volleyball. Once you step into the sarong, bring the upper edge above the level of your navel (the hem of the sarong should be level with your ankles), position the head of the sarong at the center of the back and folds in the excess fabric from both sides to the front center where they overlap, and then secure the sarong by rolling the upper hem down over itself.

Basically, wrap and roll and unleash the beach babe rock ‘n roller that lives in you.

Who said only bathing suits should be worn to the beach? Dresses that are meant to be beachwear.

Wrap yourself in an adorable sundress and bring out your sunny side!

Summertime is almost here and many of us are probably incredibly happy to see this fun, sunshine-filled season smile down on us. Summer is three months of vacations, beaches, parties and lots of fun. Long, glorious days to be savored and enjoyed by everyone.

While going to the beach is a treat, it does take a bit of packing beforehand even if it’s only for a day. Once your feet sink into the glorious sand, you’ll want to stay awhile, and the sun’s rays and the sometimes humid air at the beach calls for extra pampering and care to avoid burning and dry skin. Oh, but even amidst these hazards, the thrill of spending time at the beach makes a little burn or hair frizz well worth it.

10 Essential Items You Need to Pack in Your Beach Bag:

  • Towel: You may even want to pack two towels – one to lie down on and one to dry off with. A large-sized beach towel is a must to protect you from the hot sand.
  • Sunglasses: Those strong, hot rays of sunshine may feel fabulous, but your eyes will thank you if you slip on a great pair of sunglasses. No squinting!
  • Flip Flops: Even if you prefer to go barefoot in the sand, you’ll need something for your feet when you walk to and from your car, strut down the strand to eat or shop, or if the sand is simply too hot.
  • Sunscreen: No matter your skin type (light, medium, dark), we all know the harsh sun can dry out our skin and/or lead to skin cancer. Always wear your sunscreen.
  • Body Lotion or Suntan Oil: Make sure that throughout the day you keep your skin soft and supple to protect from the harsh rays of the sun.
  • Hydrating After Sun Spray: At the end of your beach day, apply a hydrating after sun spray made with cocoa butter and oils to help moisturize and restore dry and sun damaged skin.
  • Lip Balm or Lip Gloss: The sun can also burn and dry out your lips, so keep your lips well coated and protected with lip balm or a clear lip gloss.
  • Books: Even if you think you’ll spend all day in the water, you may decide to relax on your towel and soak up some sun. A good book passes time and intrigues everyone.
  • GoPro Camera: For all the adventurous underwater guys and gals, body surfing while taking pictures with a GoPro camera is the bomb!
  • Frisbee: You might want to put down your iPhone for a while and toss a frisbee. Sometimes your inner child just needs to play awhile. If you’re at a dog beach, bring your pooch along. Dogs need their playtime too.

These are 10 essential items you should carry in your beach bag to ensure your time in the sand and the sun is humongous fun. While you’re at it, why not bring along a beach ball? Fun for you alone or the entire family, one and all!

Splurge on yourself with a playful day or week at the beach, rejuvenate your body and mind and take some time out to just enjoy everyday life. Time in the sun equals pure festive fun!

Nail art is fun, beautiful, creative, and makes you feel good. We should all pamper ourselves with anything fashion and beauty! Whether you prefer pastel shades, or bold colors, nail art adds pizzazz and glamour to all hands.

You agree that decorative nail art and professional manicures look and feel great, but not everybody has the time, money, or transportation to get to a nail salon. Do-it-yourself nails and manicures are available to help you get your much desired and deserved glam on!

For those of you that prefer the do-it-yourself method, here are a few fun and easy tips you can do to paint your own nails in gorgeous  shades:

  1. File your bare, clean nails into your desired shape.
  2. Soak your fingers in warm soapy water for a couple minutes to soften the cuticles.
  3. Rub cuticle cream into the cuticles of the nails.
  4. Use a Q-tip or nail stick to gently push back the cuticles.
  5. Wipe your nails with a damp cloth to ensure that you remove any oils or residues left from the cuticle cream. Pat the nails dry.
  6. Apply a clear base coat of polish to the bare nails and let them dry (this permits the polish to stick to the nails easier and prevents smudging).
  7. Paint your nails with the fingernail polish color(s) of choice. Try the three brush stroke rule: one stroke of polish down the center of the nail and one stroke to the left and right side of the nail.
  8. Once dry, apply a topcoat of clear polish. This will provide a lustrous shine and help seal the color, eliminating chips and divots.
  9. If desired, display your unique creativity by decorating away! You can use jewels, glitter, decals, various colors of polish, etc. to add glitz, glamour, and pizzazz to your nails and hands!

Let’s give a hand to the glamorous nail art with pretty, pleasing, feminine shades of pastel polish for a look that’s well, perfectly polished!

For every makeup mishap, there is a quick fix to have you looking cosmetic chic.

Makeup mistakes. We’ve all made them. We’re applying cosmetics in the morning and racing the clock to get out the door. Oh no! Too much blush, pesky mascara clumps, and no time to remove the makeup and start over. Luckily, you can reverse most makeup mistakes.

Clumpy Mascara Mishap: You just applied mascara, only to have clumps stick to your eyelashes. No problem. Let the mascara dry, then wipe your lashes with a Q-tip in the same direction you apply the mascara (from the lash line to the end of the lashes in an upward motion). Clumps will stick to the cotton, leaving you with lovely lashes.

Too Much Eyeshadow : You’ve applied your eyeshadow, but either the color is overpowering or you spread on more eyeshadow than you steroids uk planned. Fixable! Apply a small amount of petroleum jelly to a Q-tip or cotton ball and lightly wipe the area where you want to remove or tone down the eyeshadow. The untouched area will stay intact, but the petroleum jelly will wipe away the extra eyeshadow. If you merely wish to tone down the color, blot a dry tissue over the eyeshadow.

Smudged Eyeliner: Eyeliner is beautiful and brings out your eyes, but smudged eyeliner is easily noticeable. Using a thin makeup brush or Q-tip, wipe away the smudged areas, leaving you with a perfect line.

Too-Bold Eyebrows: Bold, full eyebrows are in, but you can go overboard with makeup, leaving your eyebrows looking too bushy. If you’ve used an eyebrow pencil or filler, use an eyebrow brush/comb and brush the hairs up, then down, then run the brush/comb over the entire brow. This will help to shape the brow more naturally and help the hair lay flat, eliminating bushy brows.

Too Much Blush: While a light application of blush can make you look cheery and youthful, too much blush looks clownish and unnatural. If your blush is too thick or the color is too dark once applied, soften the color by going over the area with a damp makeup sponge or makeup brush. This will remove excess blush, leaving the perfect amount to give you a rosy, healthy glow.

Overlined Lips: Lip liner works wonders for defining your lips, leaving you with a pretty pout. Too much lip liner makes you look like you’re trying to enlarge your lips. Rather than removing the liner and starting over, use a Q-tip to remove any liner that goes outside the lip line and thin out the drawn line at the same time.

Cosmetically made-up faces are beautiful and can help us look fabulous and flawless. Whether you prefer your makeup light or heavy, cosmetics add allure and glamour to your face.

Bring out all of your gorgeous features with marvelous makeup!

I’m a glamour girl by nature! I find full eyebrows, dark mascara eyelashes and popping colorful lipsticks not only pretty to look at, but fun to apply!

Don’t be afraid to experiment. For every cosmetic blunder, there’s a quick fix! Pretty soon you’ll be professional perfect!

Most people that hear the word makeover consider it a radical change in appearance. In the world of beauty and fashion, a makeover could mean a change in clothing, your hairstyle or cosmetics.

Let’s be honest! Beauty, health, and vitality matters. For many people, cosmetic makeovers, or simply wearing the right touch of makeup to keep you looking natural and rested, is an integral part of your daily routine. Even for those of you that prefer a makeup-free face, swiping your eyelashes with mascara and coating your lips with clear gloss or nude shades of lipstick is something you do every day.

Ooh la la! Makeup makeovers that make you all that!

Did you know that makeup can actually enhance and sculpt your facial features? Eyeshadow and eyeliner can add depth and dimension to your eyes, bright colored lipsticks can make your entire face stand out and rouge/blush can add a youthful, radiant glow to your face, as well as enhance your cheekbones. Make no bones about it! Cosmetic makeovers are admired and adored by all. Makeovers are so revered in today’s culture that they have become popular television subjects. Think Queer Eye, What Not to Wear, Extreme Makeover, MADE, and Ambush Makeover to name a few.

So much makeup. So much fun.

Beauty generally entails cultural perception or individual views of a person’s preference. Much like some people prefer chocolate ice cream and others prefer vanilla, some women adore wearing heavy makeup, while others go with light makeup or none at all. For those of you who prefer a natural look, only applying a light concealer and foundation in the morning can do wonders for the appearance of your skin, making you look rested, youthful and virtually makeup free. Personally, I love the glamour girl look. A complete cosmetic makeover can include concealer, foundation, eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara, blush, eyebrow liner and a chic, colorful lipstick. I find the full makeup look to be especially beautiful when applied to perfection. Even false eyelashes can look like sheer heaven!

Bat your baby eyes and make them look twice their size simply by applying lots of heavy black mascara, or a set of long false eyelashes.

Beauty may be in the eye of the beholder, but makeup makeovers that make you look “all that” are loved worldwide. Everyone wants to look their very best every day as we go on our life journey and enjoy the ride!

Wear your favorite cosmetics everyday to take you to a realm of beauty where you’re a glamour winner all the way!

Charming cosmetic makeovers!

Magical makeup makeovers for the glamour girl in all of you!

Whether you call them purses, handbags, bags or totes, most women have a love affair with their bags. Purses originated from coin purses, which were small bags for holding coins. The item then advanced to larger sized bags, capable of carrying personal items. As with all fashion, what started out as a practical item turned into an ornamental aesthetic luxury, with the looks of the purse holding more weight than the items inside the bag.

This spring, why not step out in lovely splendor carrying a floral print bag?

Purses come in many shapes, sizes and materials, from soft fabrics to leather. Various styles of purses are the satchel, hobo, tote, clutch, coin, shoulder strap, pocketbook and pouch. I myself find satchel bags to be the most beautiful and efficient. I tend to favor smaller bags where I hold the handles, as opposed to slinging the bag over my shoulder or lower arm. For those who travel with lots of items, the tote is the perfect bag for you. Large, roomy and fashionable.

Floral purses highlight a solid color outfit to perfection. The colorful flowers bring sunshine to your monochrome toned clothing. Why not accessorize by wearing a floral hat that matches your purse? Floral pumps also look amazing on your feet.

Designer handbags are all the rage. Think of names such as Calvin Klein, Versace, Prada, Louis Vuitton, Coach, Guess and many more. Also, it is fashionable to have purses in many colors and styles, to mix and match your handbag with your outfit. Decorative purses serve more than one purpose!

Purses aren’t only for women. Many men once carried coin purses. During the 18th and 19th centuries, men’s trousers were sewn equipped with pockets, which then enabled men to carry coins and paper currency in small wallets, tucked in their pockets. Today, many men carry backpacks, gym bags and totes to hold their larger personal items.

Purses and handbags are a billion-dollar business. This spring why not splurge and treat yourself to a gorgeous, floral print handbag? Flowers and springtime weather go hand-in-hand. As all fashion buffs know, it’s the shoes and the purse that make the overall outfit!

Brighten your outfit and mood with festive, floral purses.

Flower power!
