Right now, as I write this blog post, I am wearing a vest. It is a cute, tight, black vest that adds some punch and pizzazz to the white long sleeved t-shirt that I am wearing underneath the vest, without covering me up like a coat or a sweater would. The vest has a collar, along with three black buttons up the front, and I can either wear the vest open, partially button the vest, or button up all three buttons, depending on my mood.
A vest, in easy terms, is a garment that covers a portion of the upper body. Vests are generally sleeveless, and can be made from cotton, silk, satin, fur, spandex, leather, denim, etc. Sweater vests and crocheted vests are vastly popular items of clothing!
Vest Fun Fact: The term vest derives from French “veste” (jacket, sport coat), Italian “vesta” (robe, gown) and Latin “vestis”.  Many vests give the appearance of being cut off at the bottom.
Merely by slipping on a vest, you can add a pop and a fizzle to an otherwise ordinary outfit! Doll up your duds with a trendy, chic, vibrant vest!
Vests are an item of clothing that are worn by both males and females.  The sleeveless garment may have been first popularized by King Charles II of England, who wore the adaptable vest underneath his suit coats.
Vests can be worn with an array of outfits, and make for a versatile piece of clothing. You can definitely get your money’s worth by merely investing in a few vogue, alluring, fabulous vests!
Various Types of Vests:

  1. Waistcoat:  (a sleeveless under jacket) – This is a standard vest in the United States and Canada, and it is referred to as a waistcoat in the United Kingdom.
  2. Cut-Off:  The cut-off vest is typically made from cotton or denim and has no sleeves.
  3. Sweater Vest:  This is also known as a slipover, and is similar to a tank top.
  4. Flannel Vest:  A garment usually worn in place of an overcoat.

Vests add mounds of elegance and style to any outfit!
Vest Fun Fact: Vests are often worn as part of formal attire. Some people decorate their vests with jewels, rhinestones and patches. Some vests have collars, pockets, buttons, zippers and run various lengths.
Make a wise investment with a vest!
Flannel Vest Fun Fact: The flannel vest has been praised for the garment’s heat retention properties. Historically, flannel vests were regarded as a status symbol in some regions of the United States, Canada, and the Soviet Union. In the 1990s, the flannel vest found a re-emergence as a counter-culture statement, and was worn by grunge artists such as Nirvana.
Work up a voracious fashion appetite for wearing a variety of vests!
Vests truly are an easy way to add sizzle and spice to your outfit, making you look oh, so nice!
Vests can be thought of as a fantastic, high fashion, high in demand clothing accessory!
For being such a lightweight, easy to add item, vests add immense style and loads of lovely, up-to-the minute glamour to any outfit!
Glam up or glam down by merely slipping on a fancy or a casual vest!
Put my fashion recommendation to the test and wear a vest!
I attest: you’ll look your absolute best!

My style blog post today is going to be all about pictures. With winter days and cooler weather ahead, dressing for the cold, inclement atmosphere can be downright fun (the clothes, that is, not the freeze)! I am not a fan of cold weather, in fact, I find it extremely uncomfortable, and if given the choice, I would love warm, sunny weather all year long.
No wind, no rain, no clouds! Some people would get bored with this, however, I am not one of those people. I so love the dry heat and desert type weather that I truly should have been born a lizard. Give me a 90 degree day and a rock to lay on to suck up the heat, and I am a happy girl!
However, when it comes to dress, winter clothes are prime! You can add layers, wear cashmere sweaters, jeweled jackets and knee high boots!
As a fashion forward gal, here are some put together garment ensembles that put the “cool” in cold!
From sweaters, to scarves, to long skirts, winter clothes are fashionable, sexy and oh so comfortable to wear!
May I suggest reading a good book while getting a good chill?  May I suggest reading A Passion for Prying and Murder Can Be Messy? You don’t have to be basking in the sun’s rays at the beach to enjoy a Natalie North novel!
Feel and look grand while dressing cozy in a winter wonderland!
I love the garments that are put together in this picture below. This outfit reminds me of something that I would wear! I now have an excuse to go clothes shopping! Not that I need a reason!
Winter clothes are wild and wonderful! You can mix and match so many items in so many ways. Be creative! Experiment and explore your own inner stylist!
A look that I particularly love for cold weather (that still looks exquisite and trendy):

  1. A pair of straight legged denim jeans or skinny jeans
  2. A classy high heel (a pump or stiletto as opposed to a platform shoe)
  3. A soft, furry, long sleeved, form fitting cashmere sweater
  4. A thick, trendy belt around the waist
  5. A long, dainty strand of white pearls or a gold or silver chain (elegant, not large or gaudy)
  6. Bangle bracelets

This outfit always shines and fits in anywhere that you may be going. I especially love the look when the jeans are blue or black denim, the sweater and shoes are black, and the belt is white. Adding some white and/or red accessories pulls the look together to fashion know-how magnificence!
Cozy Winter Clothes Tip: You may not want to wear this many layers of clothing when you pass through airport security. You might miss your flight!
If you are someone like me who finds cold weather painful, and you wish that you could hibernate the winter days away, at least you can find some solace and comfort in the knock-out, nifty, comfortable and classy clothes that you can wear!
Let your outfits get you through your rainy or snowy day, the stylish way!
High winds, high fashion! High five!
Look hot in the cold with the vogue, modern layered look!
Strive to come alive in the dead of winter in fabulous, darling, warming duds that you love!

In the realm of fashion hits and misses, you can’t go wrong with dressing in sassy, seamless hues of blues. The color blue is a favorite of many people, and the color is associated with peace and calm. Whether you are adorned in blue jeans, or decked out in a blue evening gown, blue is a glamorous color to wear when you hit the town.
On the color spectrum, blue is located between violet and green. Blue runs high and blue runs deep, as blue is the color of the clear sky and the deep sea.
Blue is a fabulous choice of color to wear when you want to doll up or dress down!
Blue Fun Fact: Surveys in the United States and Europe show that blue is the color most commonly associated with harmony, faithfulness and confidence. Public opinion polls show that blue is overwhelmingly the most popular color, chosen by almost one-half of both men and women as their favorite color!
Various shades of blue include indigo, ultramarine, navy, turquoise, teal, aquamarine, cobalt blue, sky blue, azure and Egyptian blue, to name a few.
Blue Fun Fact: Blue pigments were originally made from minerals such as lapis lazuli, cobalt and azurite. Blue dyes were made from plants. Today, most blue pigments and dyes are made by a chemical process and synthetic dyes.
The color blue compliments many other colors well, so it is easy to mix and match garments when you are wearing blue. Whether you are rocking a knock-out blue skirt or dress, or styling in your painted on blue denim skinny jeans, blue high heels, boots and/or wedges are the bomb on all female feet!
From a color psychology perspective, the color blue demonstrates reliability and responsibility. Since blue brings on a feeling of tranquility and peace, the color blue has the power to promote both physical and mental relaxation.
Relax your stress away the fun, safe, fashionable way: dress in blue both night and day!
Traits and emotions that are associated with the color blue:

  1. Communication
  2. Peace and Calm
  3. Honesty
  4. Authority
  5. Religion
  6. Wisdom

No outfit is complete without trendy, playful, and jovial jewelry and accessories. Accessorize to your hearts content with glorious shades of blue heaven handbags and jewelry!
I love bangle bracelets. Bangle, dangle and jangle away in brassy blue bracelets!
Do you have so many clothes that you don’t know what to do? Then mix and match and catch the fashion bug with all of your clothing hues of blues!
You don’t own many blue garments? You may want to invest in a few vogue items. Blue clothing and accessories are always in style, and blue is an appropriate color to wear to most all social events!
Blue Eye Fun Fact: Blue eyes do not actually contain any blue pigment. Eye color is determined by two factors: the pigmentation of the eye’s iris, and the scattering of light by the turbid medium in the storm of the iris.
Whether your eye color is blue, brown, green, hazel, violet or gold, your eyes will stand out when accented with clothing items containing hues of blues!
So, gussy up in fabulous hues of blues!
Look dapper, darling, and dandy in beautiful blue duds!
“I must say, you look incredible in your fabulous shades of blue!”
“Why  thank you, my dear, and so do you!”
That complimentary dialogue is oh, so true, when you are gussied up in glorious hues of blues!

The 1960s geometric mod look didn’t die out after the 60s. In fact, the mod look, which I highly equate with the London look, is alive and well in fashion!
Some synonym words (replacement words, alternative words) for mod are: style, fashion, vogue, trendy, rage, craze, modern, contemporary, up-to-date, the latest thing, etc. There are numerous words that can be used to define the mod fashion look, but only one unique look defines the mod appearance, and the certain style of dress needs no explanation!
You know mod fashion as soon as you see it! Colorful (often yellows, oranges and greens), geometric patterns, long, straight, slender cut dresses, boots or high heels, and of course, frosted lip gloss!
Mod style is fun and freeing. Many times the fabrics consist of geometrical shapes, such as squares, circles, and triangles, and other shapes that have a distinct pattern. Colors are generally neon and striking.
Mod Fun Fact: Mod is a youth subculture of the early to mid-1960s, that was revived in later decades. Mod is focused on fashion and music, with the subculture having its roots in a small group of London based, stylish young men in the late 1950s who were termed modernists, because they listened to modern jazz.
From the mod subculture evolved a place in high fashion that became a cultural phenomenon! Much of the mod. London look was derived from existing Italian and French fashion!
Remember Twiggy? Lesley Lawson, widely known by the nickname Twiggy, is an English model, actress and singer. In the mid-1960s she became a prominent British teenage model of swinging sixties London with others such as Penelope Tree. Twiggy is an ideal icon of the “mod” fashion, ever popular London look!
How to Get the Mod Look for Your Face (Makeup):

  1. Heavy, thick, black eyeliner
  2. Long, large, preferably false eyelashes
  3. Blue shades of eye shadows
  4. Frosted lip gloss (preferably pink tones)
  5. Blush
  6. Short, cropped haircut or hair worn up

The mod subculture has been referred to as a “fashion-obsessed and hedonistic cult of the hyper-cool” young adults who lived in metropolitan London, or the new towns of the south. Due to the increasing affluence of post-war Britain, the youths of the early 1960s were one of the first generations that did not have to contribute their money from after school jobs to family finances. Hence, mod teens began to use their own income to buy stylish, trendy clothes.
Female Mod Fun Fact: Many female mods dressed androgynously, with short haircuts, men’s trousers or shirts, flat shoes and little makeup (pale foundation, pale lip gloss). Also, mini-skirts came into fashion, and became increasingly shorter between the early to the mid 1960s.
Mod fashion includes a smooth, sophisticated look that embraces cool and the youth culture.
For all of you fashionistas and clothes junkies, you have to admit that the mod look is fun, fearless and frivolous! Playful, perky and pretty!
Let’s give a nod to the fashion “mod”!
Mod Subculture Fun Fact: Two youth subcultures helped pave the way for the mod fashion by breaking new ground: The Beatniks and The Teddy Boys, from which mod fashion inherited its “narcissistic and fastidious fashion tendencies” and the immaculate dandy look.
Mod clothing is a hip style enjoyed by both males and females.
The mod 1960s look is a bold, brave, daring yet darling look that can be pulled off to sheer perfection with the right style of dress, replicating the signature face makeup, and wearing a short or swept up hairdo. The mod look works with long locks as well, especially when worn with blunt bangs!
Go for a bang in fashion and blow people away.
With the London look –
The cool look –
The enviable look –
The mod look!
The “you” look!
After all, isn’t that what fashion is all about, you stylish, daring diva?

Purple is known as the color of good judgment, and if I had good judgment right now, I would be working on my next novel at this precise moment. However, I am currently wearing black and beige, and for the sake of this blog post, we will say that the colors black and beige make one want to write a fluff blog post!
Purple is a range of hues occurring between the colors of red and blue. The Oxford English Dictionary describes purple as a deep, rich shade between crimson and violet.
There is something about the color purple, in all of the color’s magnificent splendor and glory, that makes purple a picture perfect color to wear!
Purple clothing equals alluring and amazing! We all know that colors can lower or heighten our mood, and vibrant, stirring colors like purple can really rev up our engines!
Purple Fun Fact: In the ancient world, purple was worn by Roman Emperors and magistrates, and later by Roman Catholic bishops. Since that time, purple has been associated with royalty and piety.
When walking in the fashion world, the color purple stands out front and center stage! The color purple is all the rage!
In addition to royalty, purple has been used to symbolize magic and mystery, and we all know that fashion and style contain the elements of magical charm and brooding mystery. Purple is soothing, and if you surround yourself with purple, you will help bring on peace of mind!
Violet is a realm of purple, and also a combination of red and blue. Red is a focusing, dynamic and active energy, while blue is a calming and expansive force.
Force your way into the fashion forefront by stepping out in pretty, pleasing purples!
When accessorizing, if you are wearing black, or white, or lavenders or pinks, purple jewelry and purple purses compliment your garments to glorious perfection!
Purple looks chic when paired with black, but when purple is put together with white, the pow factor stands out. Purple necklaces against white blouses or tops packs a powerful, modern punch!
Purple Fun Fact: The word purple comes from the Old English word purpul, which derives from the Latin word purpura, in turn from the Greek word porphura (you may need to read that a few times for the meaning to set in)! The first recorded use of the word purple in the English language was in the year 975 A.D.
The color purple is inspiring and brings out your imagination. Perhaps this blog post will inspire you to run out and buy some hot, haute couture purple high heels! What closet doesn’t scream for a pair of such exquisite footwear? What closet doesn’t yearn for such a sensuous, super shoe? Yahoo!
Purple is, well, perfect!
Violet, a form of purple, is the color of purpose. Violet is associated with the Crown chakra (this links the individual and the universe)!
With purple being a blend of red and blue, which is a mix of a warm and a cool color, could you look any hotter and any cooler than when you are parading your beautiful self in the marvelous shade that is purple?
Purple is the epitome of class! Never dull or boring or crass!
When draped in purple you will have won, whether you are walking in cool, calm steps or you are frantically on the run!
Purple highlights any daily pace!
Dress in purple when you want to:

  1. Use your imagination to the fullest.
  2. Re-balance your life.
  3. Remove obstacles.
  4. Calm overactivity or energize yourself from depression.

Or dress in purple just because you want to look truly stunning!
Glamour girl grit! I highly recommend it!

Soft, warm and fuzzy. All of the feelings that you get when you cuddle with your dog, pet your cat or rub your hand over corduroy clothing!
Whether you are an animal lover, a fashion/style lover, or both, everything feels so much better and more satisfying when the feelings are cozy and comfortable. And, the fuzzy material that is corduroy is both cozy and comfortable!
Corduroy is a textile composed of twisted fibers that, when woven, lie parallel to one another to form the cloth’s distinct pattern, which is a “cord.” Corduroy is basically a ridged form of velvet. Hence, the smooth, soft and subtle, unique pattern that is known right away to the eye.
Corduroy fabric looks as if it is made from multiple cords laid parallel to each other and then stitched together. As a fabric, corduroy is considered a durable cloth, and can be found in the clothing forms of pants, skirts, jackets, shoes, etc.
Corduroy jackets and corduroy pants are common and cute!
Corduroy Fun Fact: The interpretation of the word as corde du roi (from French, the cord of the King) is a folk etymology.
Corduroy is made by weaving extra sets of fiber into the base fabric to form vertical ridges called wales. The wales are built so that clear, distinct lines can be seen when they are cut into pile. It is the width of the cord that is commonly referred to as the wale (number of ridges per inch). As you know, some corduroy clothing has wide wales, and some have fine wales, which almost appears more like velvet.
Corduroy Fun Fact: Corduroy’s wale count can vary per inch from 1.5 to 21. The traditional standard falls between 10 and 12. The lower the wale number, the thicker the width of the wale (or cord)!
Corduroy material is cool!
Corduroy Tip: Since corduroy is similar to velvet, yet not as fancy, if you want to feel somewhat fuzzy and fearless with your clothes, but not too dressy, the corduroy fabric is a great choice to go with!
Other names used for corduroy are corded velveteen, elephant cord, pin cord, Manchester cloth and cords.
Do you want to have some fun fashion for your feet? Then why not invest in a pair of rocking, playful, fierce corduroy footwear!
Fabulous, fantastic foot decor!
The primary types of corduroy are:

  1. Standard Wale: 11 wales/inch
  2. Pincord/Pinwale/Needlecord: Pincord is the finest cord with a count at the upper end of the spectrum (above 16)
  3. Pigment Dyed/Printed Corduroy: The process of coloring or printing corduroy with pigment dyes.

Corduroy clothing shimmies and shines in all colors!
Do you want to look stylish yet sassy, chic yet casual, and beautiful yet brassy? Go corduroy!
Corduroy Fun Fact: In continental Europe, corduroy is commonly known simply as “Manchester” or “Cord.”
When coloring corduroy with pigment dyes to fabulous color splendor, the dye is applied to the surface of the fabric, then the garment is cut and sewn. When the fabric is washed during the final phase of the manufacturing process, the pigment dye washes out in an irregular way, creating a vintage look.
Vintage, velvet smooth! Merely marvelous!
Fuzzy fashion in corduroy.
Feisty yet fabulous!
Don’t be coy: walk boldly draped in charming corduroy!

Wow, look at the zebra walking down the street!
Striped zebra clothing is a real treat, both to wear, and to view!
As far as clothing goes, zebra is my favorite color – as I love mixing black and white together, and wearing the two contrasting colors as one.  Zebras are united by their distinctive black and white stripes, with their stripes coming in different patterns, unique to each individual animal.
Step into your true style draped in the alluring stripes that are zebra!
The zebra’s unique coat makes him unmistakable! When looking at a zebra, you know you are gazing at a zebra!
In life, zebras are black and white. In fashion, zebra prints are mainly black and white, but the same eye-catching, original positioning of stripes can also be achieved with other colors. Have you ever seen pink and black or green and white zebras? Too cute!
Zebra Fun Fact: On most zebras, the stripes are typically vertical on the head, neck and forequarters, and main body, with horizontal stripes at the rear and on the legs of the animal. The “zebra crossing” is named after the zebra’s black and white stripes.
I see ze zebra!
Look as cool and charming as a zebra, whether wearing zebra stripes as your main garment, or dolling yourself up with adorable zebra accessories!
When in doubt, a zebra print shoe will do marvelously, thank you!
Zebra Fun Fact: Unlike horses and donkeys, zebras have never been truly domesticated. Find your inner wild child and drape yourself in glorious, mesmerizing, flamboyant zebra prints.
Strut like a true zebra, when decked out in zebra prints. Like zebras, when coated in fabulous zebra fashion, you will draw mega-attention whether you walk, trot, canter or gallop down the streets!
Zebra Exceptionally Fun Fact: It was once believed that zebras were white animals with black stripes, since some zebras have white underbellies. However, embryological evidence shows that the zebra’s background color is black, and the white stripes and bellies are additions.
White – black or black -white, the zebra’s fine striped coat is a lovely sight!
Wear the zebra print right!
Work it and unleash your inner animal!
Another plus of dressing in the splendid pattern that is ze zebra is “motion dazzle.” As your body moves, you will come across as a specimen of flickering stripes, extremely difficult to miss!
Motion dazzle and razzle dazzle your way into stylish glamour by dressing in the wow factor stripe that is the zebra print!
What is a style of clothing that is sure to score points? I’ll give you a hint, it’s the zebra print.
Ze Ze Ze Ze Zebra!
Do you see ze zebra?
Of course, you see ze zebra! There is no way that you can miss it!
So go out dressed in fantastic zebra magnetism! In true glamour girl fashion, you can’t miss!
