In recent years, scarves have experienced a fashion forward revival! Whether your scarf is tied in a knot, wrapped around your neck or draped over your shoulders, scarves can set off an outfit much like the whip cream on the hot chocolate or the exclamation mark at the end of the sentence!
A scarf, also known as a muffler or a neck wrap, is a piece of fabric/material worn around the neck, near the head, wrapped over the head, or tied around the waist. Scarves can be used for warmth, cleanliness, religious reasons and of course, for fashion fun!
Scarves come in a variety of sizes, colors and patterns, and can add a vibrant, festive allure to any garment!
ImageImage
Some common fabrics that scarves are made of include wool, cashmere, cotton, jersey, linen, yarn, silk and satin. As with most fashion accessories, a scarf can be used to doll an outfit up or to give off a more casual, sporty appearance!
ImageImageImageImage
Ancient Rome is one of the first origins of the scarf, where it was used by people to keep clean. This type of scarf was called the “sudarium”, which translates from Latin to English as “sweat cloth”, and was used to wipe the sweat from the neck and face in hot weather. These scarves were originally worn by men around their necks or tied to their belts. Soon women started using the scarves, and ever since, the scarf has been fashionable among women!
Surprise! Women turned the practical piece of material into a fashion extravaganza!
By the early 19th century, the scarf became a fashion accessory for both men and women. Today, the scarf is an accepted fashion item that can be worn in a variety of ways, whether for practicality in the weather of merely to spice up your sassy or sexy clothing!
ImageImageImageImage
Men look just as scrumptious and sexy in scarves as women! Masculine and seductive!
ImageImage
Wearing a scarf in your hair to hold up a bun, or tying a scarf around your waist are a couple of great, unique ways to wear the scarf!
ImageImageImage
If you prefer to tie a scarf over your head, accenting and framing your face, you can accomplish the task of putting on the scarf in three easy steps:

  1. Place the scarf underneath your hair and hold an end of the scarf in each hand.
  2. Bring the scarf up and across the top of your forehead and wrap the ends in a crossed knot, but don’t tie the knot.
  3. Adjust the scarf to where you want the fabric positioned and firmly tie the knot.

Image
Another vogue way to wear the scarf over your head is to bring the scarf down over the sides of your face and tie the scarf under your chin, or tie the scarf on the side of your head.
ImageImage
A scarf wears extremely well around the neck choker style or when worn loosely over a blazer or a jacket. This ensemble is dressy enough to be worn to a party, a nice restaurant or to an office event, yet you would be just as comfortable to adorn your body in this get up on a shopping excursion or even to a casual fast-food lunch.
This look reminds me of something that I would piece together and wear, with one twist: I adore high heels, and the higher the heel, the more trendy and fashionable the look! I would decorate my shoe friendly feet in at least a 4 or 5 inch heel to really add a hip edge to this stylish, chic outfit!
Image
Scarves can be interchanged to match your moods and your clothes in the same way that jewelry, shoes and handbags have been helping us for years! Be it Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall, have a ball and wear it all!
ImageImage
Image
And to think that the scarf was originally used to wipe sweat!
The scarf has come a long, long way to where it is today!
Which is, hopefully, in your closet waiting to knock your outfit up a notch or two, knowing that as a true glamour girl, you are all tied up in fashion!

Hair is where it’s at. Whether your hair is long or short, curly or straight, thick or thin, blonde or black, your hair is the frame of your face; the crown jewel of your head.
Whether your hair is down to there or up to your ears, your hair speaks volumes, and merely by changing your hairstyle, you can speak many moods in many languages!
Let’s have fun with the hairstyle known as the bun!
A bun (also known as the bobtail) is a type of hairstyle where the hair is pulled back from the face, twisted or plaited, and wrapped in a circular coil around itself, typically pinned on the top of the head, the back of the head or on the back of the neck. Buns can be secured in place with a hairpiece, a hairnet, bobby pins or hair clips.
There are many types of buns. The ballerina bun sits on top of the head and is a great, savvy look for any occasion. This type of bun can be worn with an elegant garment, or with a more every day, casual outfit and wear extremely well!
ImageImage
The french bun twist is another bun that provides a beautiful appearance. This type of hairstyle looks charming as a formal hairstyle. Add braids to the bun, and the look is playful, alluring and exquisite!
ImageImage
The twisted bun is easy to do and provides a feminine, youthful look. This type of bun works for shoulder length hair and longer. Knowing how to make a hair bun allows you the opportunity to instantly change your appearance and have fun with a stylish, trendy, easy hairstyle.
How to Make a Twisted Bun:

  1. Put your hair in a ponytail.
  2. You can rest the ponytail high on your head or at the nape of your neck.
  3. Hold your ponytail in your hand and start to twist it near the ponytail headband.
  4. Continue to twist your hair until the hair is completely wrapped and twisted.
  5. Now twist, starting at the base of your ponytail, until your ponytail is in circles on your head or the back of the neck (wherever you want to place the bun).
  6. Hold the bun in place with your hand as you insert bobby pins to secure your bun into place.
  7. You may want to add some hair spray to help hold the bun in place.
  8. Hair gloss or hair shine sprayed over the hairdo polishes off the look.

Image
Buns look exceptionally attractive when you add hair ornaments and various accessories to doll up the bun and/or help to secure the bun from falling loose!
ImageImageImageImageImage
When you think of how easy buns are to make, the types of buns and the various looks that you can pull off with buns is truly fashionable excitement! In addition to darling hair decorations, bun covers can add a cute, festive look to the always “in” hairdo.
ImageImageImage
A sexy, sensual, youthful highlight to accentuate your bun is allowing wispy hairs to dangle around your face, or around the back of your head. These loose locks look luscious and add a touch of class to the bun. This look isn’t as dramatic as a bun where all of the hair is pulled tightly off of the face.
I also adore the messy bun look. Classic and chic!
ImageImageImageImageImageImage
As with all fashion, don’t be afraid to experiment with your hair and wear a signature bun that spells your name!  A bun that is completely unique to you. A true original!
Some great ideas are crimped buns and real dramatic, high fashion buns, which are fantastic for evening wear!
ImageImageImage
The notion that buns are old fashioned or the hair choice for only librarians is merely a myth. In India, it is common for female college professors to wear their hair in a bun, in order to identify with their professions.
So wear the bun proudly! Show off your intelligence and your ability to rock a fabulous hairstyle! Whatever your bun preference may be.
ImageImageImage
As someone who enjoys jewelry and never leaves home without my earrings on, the bun is a perfect hairstyle to be worn with long, large. luxurious earrings.  When the hair is pulled up off of the neck, the entire neck shows and appears longer. The dangling earrings accentuate the neck even more!
Image
Whether your mood or personality is fancy or free spirited, pensive or playful, have fun with the bun!
Image
Fun with hair! Fun with fashion! Fun with life!
You’ll always hit a style home run when your gorgeous hair is wrapped in a bun!

Darren and Natalie shared a giggle as Natalie glanced down at her feet, ornamented with four-inch brown suede ankle boots.  Murder Can Be Messy, Chapter 4.

Natalie North, the stylish, twenty-nine-year-old Los Angeles super sleuth, loves her ankle boots in my two Natalie North murder mysteries books, A Passion for Prying and Murder Can Be Messy.

Can you blame her?

Ankle boots aren’t only for shoe lovers. Ankle boots are adored by most everyone, and the ankle boot is certainly in a class of its own. With so many types to choose from (platform, wedge, flat, stiletto, pointed toe, open toe, strappy or buckled) ankle boots aren’t only in fashion during cold winter, rainy months!  Ankle boots move fashion forward year round, and the boot can be worn with many types of clothing.

Follow fashion suit in the ankle boot!

An ankle boot is a boot with a shaft up to the ankle. To follow suit simply means to do as another  has done, or follow an example! So stay stylish and trendy by joining in on the ankle boot bonanza and let your feet walk you fashion first into shoe couture grandeur!

ImageImageImage

Ankle boots wear well with a variety of clothing. The ankle boot sets off skinny jeans, flaired jeans, slacks, short dresses, leggings and skirts.

ImageImageImageImageImage

The ankle boot ranges from party platforms to sensible soled flats!

ImageImageImageImageImage

There are no real steadfast rules in fashion, as each person should be brave and bold enough to dress in whatever attire and garments feel great to them!

Don’t be afraid to experiment with fashion, you may be the next vogue trend setter!

ImageImageImage

For those of you who find it difficult to walk in high heels, whether platforms or stilettos, yet you want a fancier looking ankle boot than a flat sole, wedge heels are the perfect answer. Walking in a wedge heel is the same to your foot as walking in flats (your heel, ball and toes all remain at one level) except that your are merely walking a few inches off of the ground!  You won’t teeter as the wedge heel provides a sturdy support.

Wedge heels are stylish and practical all rolled into one great look!

ImageImage

Ankle boots are adorable, and the same pair of boots can take on many different looks simply by what outfit you wear them with, and how you accessorize. The same pair of ankle boots that rock your casual, denim look can appear just as luscious when worn with a frilly lace skirt!

So whether your preference is casual or dressy, the ankle boot works wonders in setting off pure, fetching fashion!

ImageImage

Who said that ankle boots are best for Fall and Winter?

Ankle boots work everyday of the week, even in Spring and Summer!

Push the envelope of glam and glam your feet up!

You’ll look choice in your favorite ankle boots of choice!

A popular, pretty and never outdated top to wear with skirts, pants and shorts is the beautiful and feminine top known around the globe as the blouse!
A blouse is a loose-fitting upper garment that can be either gathered at the waist or hang loosely over the wearer’s body. Blouses come in various styles, patterns (floral, print, solid color) cuts and are made from a variety of fabrics! Some common material for blouses is cotton, lace and silk cloth, and blouses may or may not include a collar and sleeves.
Blouses run the gamut from standard, no nonsense, professional attire all the way to frilly, lacy, fancy apparel. Many blouses resemble men’s dress shirts in the way the blouse buttons up the front, has a firm collar and long sleeves that button at the wrists.
Image
Image
Blouse is a French word meaning “dust coat” and has become a common word in the English language. Blouses were rarely a part of the fashionable woman’s wardrobe until the 1890s. Before that time, blouses were popular for informal wear in styles that mirrored peasant or traditional clothing. A simple blouse with a plain skirt was the standard dress for the female workforce in the 1890s. In the early 1900s, elaborate blouses, such as the lingerie blouse (heavily decorated with lace and embroidery) and blouses with tucks and pleats became immensely sought after for both office and evening wear.ImageImage
ImageImage
Tailoring can provide a closer fit to the wearer’s shape. This form fitted look is achieved with sewing of features such as princess seams or darting in the waist and/or bust. I think that tailored, form fitted blouses look real nice with plain skirts or either high waisted or hip hugger pants!
ImageImageImage
Generally a front button up blouse should be worn with the top button or two top buttons open, for better comfort. This look wears real well when the blouse is worn as the sole top, or when the blouse is worn underneath a blazer or a jacket. A striking necklace or choker to decorate the neck and open chest area when added with the blouse creates a stylish, feminine look.
Other cuts of blouses zip up the side, slip on over your head or button up the back. Many of these blouses are fancier to look at compared to the standard shirt blouse, and they can dress up and doll up your outfit merely by their divine elegance.
Sheer blouses and lace blouses are ultra feminine and sensual. These blouses can be worn with dress slacks and skirts to create a fancier look, or they can be worn with casual or denim slacks, skirts and shorts to give off a more youthful, yet alluring vibe!
ImageImageImageImageImage
Image
A blouse is by far a nice, comfortable flowy shirt that is much more classy than a shirt!
ImageImageImageImageImageImage
Tip for wearing a long-sleeved blouse on a warm day: Roll up the sleeves to above the elbows. I think rolled-up sleeves is a great, fun look! Not only does it allow you to wear the blouse even in warm weather, but it emits a cute, cool, fashionable image!
Image
If earrings and/or a necklace were added to this ensemble, this outfit could be taken up a notch, depending on your mood or where you are going!
Blouses are elegant, pretty and always in style!
ImageImage
So whether your tastes run more casual and sporty, or more girly girl and dolly, there are numerous styles and types of blouses to satisfy your particular, unique fashion sense.
From sensible to sensational!
From practical to prissy!
From downplay to darling!
No matter your wardrobe preference, blouses are beautiful!

In trend setting Hollywood, this is the weekend to sparkle, bedazzle and glitter. With the Academy Awards only two days away, lustrous clothes and impeccable makeup jobs will be  parading down the red carpet, elevating people to a magical level!
Glamour, glitz, illusion! Fashion is fantasy! Fashion is real!
What better way to sparkle yourself into the whimsical aura of beauty and grandeur than glittering your eyes up in pure gorgeous glam?
Glitter is in style! Eye shadow never goes out of style! Combine the two, and you create an eye popping effect that lights up both your eyes and the room!  Bam! Wow! Pop!
Glitter eye shadow begs to be noticed, so highlight your goo goo eyes with glitzy glitter!
Glitter: An assortment of very small, flat, reflective particles. When these particles are applied to surfaces, they each reflect light in different angles, causing the surface to sparkle, shimmer and shine.
Eye Shadow: A cosmetic that is applied on the eyelids and under the eyebrows. It is commonly used to make the wearer’s eyes stand out and to look more attractive.
Goo Goo Eyes: “Puppy dog” eyes made toward the object of your affection; a form of flirting.
And when you make goo goo eyes at your special someone, your eyes illuminated with the help of glittery eye shadow, you will be completely irresistible!
Image
Flirting at its finest!
Eye shadow adds depth and dimension to one’s eyes, complements the eye color and draws attention to the eyes. Eye shadow comes in many different colors and textures. It is generally made from a powder and mica, but can also be found in liquids, pencil or mousse form.
Glittery eye shadows brighten up any color and shape of eyes, and the way that you can be as creative and artistic in your application process as you dare to be is all the more enticing!
Pure party fun! Fearless! Fierce! Fiery!
ImageImageImageImage
You can glam your glitter eyes up even more with the aid of eyeliner and heavy mascara or false eyelashes!
Eye candy elegance!
ImageImageImage
Image
Glittery eye shadows come in a variety of colors, allowing you to be the artist that paints a ravishing portrait on your powerful eyes!
ImageImageImage
Eye shadow can be applied in a variety of ways depending upon the desired look and formulation. Typically the application is done using fingers or brushes. The most important aspect of applying eye shadow is blending the color(s) in well and preventing smudging.
In addition to fine glitter, eyes look absolutely beautiful when partied up with stones or large pieces of glitter. You can find these products at arts and crafts stores or beauty supply stores. The best way to apply stones and large glitter is by using a clear eyelash adhesive and applying the sticky substance to the areas where you will place the eye decorations.
When you are ready to remove the bedazzling stones,  just pat a warm, wet washcloth over the adhesive. You can also use a store bought eye makeup remover. It is that easy!
Dazzling, pretty peepers!
ImageImageImage
Image
Makeup is meant to be fun! The application of makeup is truly a fine art!
Cosmetics have been used for as long as there have been people to use them. Eye shadow was used in Egyptian burials dating back to 10,000 BC. The word “costemae” was first used to describe Roman slaves whose duty was to bathe men and women in perfume!
People the world over love their cosmetics! Civilizations around the world use eye shadow. Though the makeup is predominantly used by women, men occasionally wear eye shadow as well. Think David Bowie and men in theater!
Eye shadow is here to stay! Wink away!
Image
Glitter your way to glorious, glitzy  glamorous eyes!
When you bat or wink your glittery goo goo eyes, everyone in the room will be spellbound, unable to break their stare away from looking straight into your gorgeous, glittery, elegant eyes!
Sparkle at its finest!
And did I mention beautiful to look at?
How did you get so lit up and where did you get those eyes? Those soulful, mesmerizing eyes!

Everyone deserves pampering now and then. A little luxurious, easy grooming treatment can provide big pluses to your appearance and to your mood, in minimal time and with minimal effort!

People the world over rejuvenate both their inner and outer shells by visiting spas, working out, getting their hair done and paying for precious, splendid massages!

Pure joy!

An at home facial makeover is a great way to rebuild your energy and lower your fester limit, without breaking your bank account. The end result is well worth the time, whether you finish off your clean, fresh faced look with or without makeup.

Lavish looks!

The rewards for conducting this easy procedure are much like eating the cookie or the cupcake! Delicious!

Beautiful skin is like a fresh coat of paint on your house! Youthful, refreshed and clean! With these simple steps, you can erase the stresses of daily life from your face with inexpensive products that will make you look like a million bucks!

How to give yourself a full facial, at home makeover:

  1. Take a warm bath or a steamy shower. The steam will open up your pores, as well as soften and hydrate the skin, helping to put you in a relaxed, pampered mood.
  2. Cleanse your face well with a gentle facial cleanser (don’t use harsh soap). Do a gentle exfoliation of the entire facial skin area and apply a mask appropriate for your skin type (oily, dry or combination skin). While the mask sits on your face, you may want to lie down and place slices of cucumber over the eyes. This natural home remedy helps to reduce puffiness and eliminate circles under your eyes that give you a tired appearance.
  3. Wash the mask off of your face with warm water and pat dry with a towel.
  4. Use this time to pluck your eyebrows into shape and to get rid of any stray, unwanted facial hair (creme hair dyes for the face and/or tweezers work well).
  5. If you want to apply makeup to your sparkling clean canvas, start by placing a concealer underneath the eyes, then use a foundation all over your face that matches your skin tone (liquid or powder).
  6. Experiment with your makeup. You can now add eye shadow, eyeliner and/or mascara, blush and lipstick as desired. Sweep the blush over and just underneath the cheekbone for definition. If applying lipstick, line the lips first with a similar shade lip liner pencil, as this will prevent the lipstick from bleeding or feathering.
  7. Once you have perfected your face with your preferred choice of makeup, sweep bronzer or dry powder over the skin to seal in the foundation and to give your skin a radiant, healthy glow.
  8. Frame your beautiful face with the hairstyle of your choice!

A full facial makeover is that quick and easy, and the rewards are well worth the efforts!

ImageImageImageImage

With healthy skin, I feel that women look great with both a fresh face and a made up face. Especially depending on your agenda of the day and where you are going. A makeup free face still screams glamour, and a made up face is equally as beautiful.

Your mood! Your choice! Your whim!

ImageImageImage

If you are feeling bold and adventurous, you can go for the Barbie makeup application and the big hair blowout! This look is fun and daring!

Image

So whether you doll up your smooth, supple face with makeup, or you show off your makeup free, natural doll face, you can be sure that you will be presenting a healthy, radiant face to the world!

You darling, vixen doll, you!

With the Hollywood Academy Awards ceremony only days away, people the world over will be able to witness some of the most fabulous, designer floor length gowns as celebrities strut down the red carpet, decked out in pure fabric splendor. Eye candy entertainment!
The long dress is at its best at awards presentations, as generally females, when attending these ritzy events, are adorned in dresses that drape all the way to the ground! A flowing image of feminine dress dazzle!
A long dress is a garment where the hem stops around the ankle, or even flows to the ground. There are many categories of long dresses, some being ball gowns, bridesmaids dresses, evening gowns, maxi dresses, sun dresses and muumuus!
First I would merely like to display a few floor length gowns that would be fancy and provocative enough to be worn to the Academy Awards or to some major black tie dress up event, as they are indeed fun for the eyes to drink in!
Image.
ImageImageImage
Stunning, beautiful and glamorous!  Gorgeous gowns of grandeur!
Of course, with any of the dresses above, the only shoes that could be worn with this type of a dress that would do the garment any justice at all is a high heel  Although a closed toe pump would work, the best shoe to wear to walk around in sheer elegance would be an open toed, high heeled sandal shoe. Then wrap yourself in splendid jewels, and your look will be magnificent and amazing!
Every female closet should be home to one long dress. You never know when an event will come up where a floor length dress is a must, and you can spice up the dress with certain accessories, or play down the same dress by going simple on the jewelry and shoes.
Casual long dresses are comfortable and cute, all wrapped into one! These dresses are great for going to wedding showers or baby showers, a spring or summer brunch, or merely to wear during a fashion shopping excursion at the local mall!
Image
ImageImageImageImage
With these simpler, yet just as spectacular long dresses, I think they look real pretty when worn with a flat sandal. It gives off a trendy yet classy look. Of course a heel would work also, but you would want to stay away from boots or sneakers if you are looking to send out a knock out, fashionista vibe.
Another type of long dress that is similar to the casual long dress is the maxi dress. A maxi dress goes all of the way to the ground and they are available in hundreds of different designs, such as tartan, stripes, polka dots, floral patterns and solid colors. A true maxi dress generally has stretchy fabric around the midsection, and can easily be worn by pregnant women, without looking like you are covered in a maternity dress.
ImageImage
Image
A plus of the long dress is that it makes any body shape appear taller and thinner. With the large amount of draping material, the full length dress creates a visual where your eye follows the fabric from the floor to your shoulders, giving off the appearance that you stretch for days!
So if you are shopping for a long dress, you have numerous styles to choose from. Whether you are draped in a fancy garment that has a puffy, flared skirt or a skin tight, slinky fit, long dresses are pure feminine fabulousness!
Both the front and the back of the dress is fabric flowing, eye candy delight!
ImageImage
Image
From sassy, sexy elegance to pretty, perfect splendor, long dresses are stylish, fashionable garments that are appropriate to wear for a myriad of occasions!
I simply adore these two long dresses:
ImageImage
Completely different styles and looks, but they both shout “Wow!”
So wow them in your long dresses, where the material hangs from your hair to your heels.
You’ll be the belle of the ball, the princess at the party or the babe on the beach!
I confess: This glamour girl gives an “A+” to the long dress!
